HELP PLS! What's wrong with my plants?

Discussion in 'Sick Plants and Problems' started by FostCho20, Apr 23, 2016.

  1. 3 plants, AK-47. Day 35 from seed. 300w led light about 22 inches from tops of plants. Foxfarm nutes, first feed on day 34. Ph @ 7.0. 2 are topped. Did I feed too late? Nitrogen deficiency? Potassium deficiency? PH problem? I can't pin-point it. Any help would greatly appreciated. I don't want my plants to die. First time grow...

  2. After the feeding you wont see the damaged leaves improve. Just look to see if it spreads

  3. In the middle photo the plant looks as if it grew too close to the lights at some point. The other two photos show necrosis due to not keeping up with proper watering in the early portion of the plants growth. it looks like you are on track now though cause the new growth is all healthy. I would prune off those damaged leaves and move on.

  4. Ok, will do. But I heard that you're never supposed to remove damaged leaves because the plant put all it's energy into growing it, it would cause super slow growth if done. Is that true?

The middle plant has always looked weird like that from day one. Idk what to do

  5. You need to repot that plant into a larger container When one gets wider and taller than the container it's growing in, it's time to go up in size. I only go one or two sizes up because the larger space you transplant into, the longer it takes the plant to root in and get back to growing foliage. If your pH is generally around 7, that's out of range. The range for soil of water going into your plants is 6.3 to 6.7. Watering or feeding with liquids out of range will lock up the roots of your plants. You can always judge the overall health of your plants by the condition of the new growth. If it's healthy looking, stretching toward the light and the proper color, then you're plant is in good shape. You will naturally have some old leaf die off as time goes on, but it's nothing to get upset about. But just get the water your give your plants into the correct pH range on a regular basis. Good luck! TWW

  6. I just bought new pots, 5 gallon cloth pots cause I hear clay pots suck. I will transplant today. New growth looks pretty good to me. They look super happy and perky besides the yellow bottom leaves... Would distilled water be a better option?? Thanks for your wishes & advice TWW.

Here's what new growth looks like, the bottom leaves turned yellow in a matter of 48 hours.

  7. I ordered ph & tds readers, still waiting for there arrival.. I've been checking the ph with the chemical tester but water always settles and ph appears different after a couple hours. How can I ensure accurate ph? Testing the run off seems kinda backwards to me

  8. Hi leave ya wayer to stand over night. Add nutes and mix . Leave two or three hrs . Stir and then check ph. Add ph up are down depending on reading. . I check my run off as i put ph 5.8 feed water in and hope its around dame range in run off so i can see ph of my medium that way. Ya need ya medium to be in range or means ya av salt build up or somethin wrong which interns effects plants. If i get a 6.2 run off for example i wood flush or go slightly liwer on ph feed. Im not good at explaining but some one one ere cud put it better proberbly love. Good luck wi yr growxxxx
