Help choosing the right light for vegetative growth

  1. Hey guys, I'm fairly new to growing and brand new to these forums but I was hoping someone could help me out. I've just been growing three autoflowers at a time in a 4x2x6 grow tent under a 600w hps light. The light works fine for vegetative growth, but I was hoping to build a second grow box for the veg stage and move them under my 600w hps light when they're mature enough. My question is, what would be the best light to start them off with before putting them under a 600w hps light for flower? The tents are right next to each other so I can put both lights on the same timer, which I keep on an 18/6 cycle. If anyone could help me figure out which light would work best for me it would be greatly appreciated, thank you

  2. A lot of people prefer to veg with cfl bulbs. It keeps the stretching down and nodes tighter so when you throw it into the flower tent it'll be a little smaller then take off. I was going to use cfl for my next full veg, but I decided on a quantum board instead , and to just start under cfls for the first 3 weeks. If you already have an hps for flower, you can build your own cfl "fixture" for cheap

  3. The good thing about those quantum boards is they have 2700k 3000k 4000k and 5000k lights. You can put one together yourself for like 100 > and pick which lighting for the stage of growth you'll be using .

  4. If you are growing autos and are under the clock to the finish date I suggest at least a 400mh. I would go with another 600 so you can run autos in each tent, just 4 weeks apart.
