    Longtime lurker, first time poster!

I'm probably a bit older than the average poster here, but when I blaze I often restore/repair/mod old Atari game consoles/computers and arcade machines. I've built a fairly substantial collection over the years. Just thought I'd share.

    Welcome any questions/comments too!

...I actually do not have any photos of my uprights (Millipede, SNK MVS-U4 & Crazy Kong cocktail cab) presently hosted, but if anyone wants to see them or has any repair questions, let me know! 6. Clean your game contacts with 91% isopropyl alcohol & a 1up card (1UPcard. Easy cleaning for retro games and consoles.). Pick up a NES console cleaning kit/cleaner (also made by 1upcard) and do the same for the console contacts.

If that doesn't work, head on over to eBay (or DuckDuckGo, Google, etc) and search for, "replacement NES 72 pin connector" because you'll have to replace that. I promise you this sounds way more intimidating than it actually is and is a very inexpensive fix (this is also the worst case scenario). Instructables has a decent enough guide, should you have to do this: NES 72 Pin Replacement Guide

    Hope that helps!

  9. Really cool stuff. You never see the boxes.

I have a vintage 2600 that was mine when I was a kid and a few games that I didn't let someone borrow and not bring back years ago. I have some paddles. They sit in a box in my closet though. I should some day hook all my old game systems up.

  10. Years ago I had a buddy who's dad did refrigeration. He cleaned our NES with some R-11 refrigerant. Its one of the ones that you can't really get anymore or it's crazy expensive. It evaporated at room temp. It was one of the best cleaners you could imagine for electronics. It worked perfect for a while after cleaning. No more breathing in the cartridge to get it to come on.

It doesn't appear you have an actual vintage 2600?

Some are reproduction boxes (w/original manuals). I can proudly say 90% are authentic though!

  15. I got a 5200 once new in box just about at a garage sale. This was early 2000's. There wasn't crap about it on the net or resources. I couldn't get it to work. Ended up throwing it away. =(

That sucks dude! They only sold 1-1.5 million of them, so even factoring NOS, there getting sorta rare now. $70+ USD on eBay and that's usually a working system w/1-2 controllers and not much else*. Usually what goes bad is the RF cable (in both the 2 & 4 port models)...or the 4 port models RF/power switch box.

*That can vary since the majority 5200 games are crazy cheap though.
