Hey Lucky: Welcome to Des Moines. I lived in Richardson (suburb of Dallas) for about 10 years, but that was almost 30 years ago. You're right, it is SO different here. For instance, you'll find your commute to work in the mornings and afternoons won't involve travel times over an hour, and neither will it involve weapons of any kind. People are a little more kind, and willing to cut some slack. I came back to Iowa because of the lack of murders, armed robberies and the wide open spaces. Hope you enjoy your decision to get out of the big city.
