Hey guys, in week 3 of flowering for my blue dream, cookies kush, critical kush and liberty haze and I'm having a height problem with the blue dream.

The tops have already reached the light, and I cannot raise the light any higher. From what ive gathered, veg growth will continue for another week and then should stop. The blue dream is literally exploding with vertical growth which isn't good, at least 1" a day

Im just looking to see what others have done when experiencing this problem, thanks, or any advice you can offer. My tent is too full already, so training besides staking up branches isn't an option.

  2. I gow in a closet, about 6ft max. Height is always an issue. I look for low growing strains. Even though I use #10 airpots I only fill them about half way. That gives me a little more. All my pots are on rollers so that costs me a little. Two things when you reach max height
#1. Do nothing, let them grow right up against the light until they burn
#2 Harvest the tall problem buds a little early

I don't like advice to lst or bend after the fact, that should have been planned before planting.
Next time do a little more research on low growing strains.

  3. Supercrop to lean branch. Or let it grow and burn by the bulb. Is my best idea.

  4. I've skimmed over supercropping once. I've give it a good read and see if its feasible with the amount of room I have. I WILL NOT kill another plant, down to 10 from 16 already.. I'm also going to start supplementing with silica again, but wasn't sure about the mixing procedure so I stopped, since I'm using RO water I have to use cal mag to buffer, that's another story though.

  5. I just supercroped my tallest on four stocks. Let you know how it heals. If pinch too much, tape with hold it until stable. I'm 3 week into flower and avoid bending stalks.

  6. I'm thinking about just bending over, kind of how you would do in a scrog, I feel like damaging the stem of the top cola would do more damage than good.

Also, since I'm only 3 weeks, I kmoe you're not supposed to trim, but the bottom branches aren't even showing hairs on most, or barely at all, I also want more air penetratiom through the bottom levels, not sure if I should trim the branches

  7. Lst, it. You can tie it down. I know it's ok to super crop in bloom I be careful when getting into later bloom. Some people think it can stress a plant turn it hermie. Call is yours.

Next run if you going jungle maybe look into Scrog method. Great way to grow and keep heights to where you want.

My advice always research their stretch, and have a Scrog net set below that height. This way any taller branches come up you can tie them down to get an even canopy.

Other then that bend lst it, you can bend it down and tie it down.

    Nice grow so far.

If you want some height control along with big buds on every stalk look into Scrog, then look into super cropping. Also If you never done it before don't now.. Do it on plants in veg to learn imo. I mean super crop . Lst, Scrog, you can do fine. Every day try to big down a bit more and more not all at once you know.

Takes more work by you can get better returns.

Thank you. I've decided on lst, but here's a pick of what I've done, I wasn't sure how much to bend, or if I should bend towards or away from the light.

On another note, can I remove the bottom branches? They are doing nothing bit taking away energy From the main bud sites. Week 3 of flower IMG_20160417_161234.jpg IMG_20160417_161222.jpg .

  9. That's up to you,mid you still got stretch going, they could keep all tied down let them catch up. If not cut, this is something next time you want to do more in send week flower, but should be ok to do.

Tie it down more? Make it bend, just do it slowly, I had 4 plants get to 8 ft in my 6ft tent before it's not fun hehe. But if you can just keep bending over more, see if you can do even your canopy a bit more. Course be careful if you happen to snap duct tape it,but that's worse case.

I just seen the direction you bend it. It may be ok there, bending it away from the light too much may not be good, it's hard to tell can you bend other way? If not might be ok there, how far from light is it?

  10. Since you are only three weeks in than cut the main cola off and let it top naturally in bud. I used to freak out about my main cola and that it is the flagship cola of all of them. The bottom branches when grown properly mind you will give you 3x the weight on your harvest day than a main cola that caused you stress and heartache when it burns or you snap a mid height cola on week 7 because your flagship needed more maintence

  11. You are braver then me then lol. I snapped mine in veg and that makes me sad, doing it flower I think i would cry :p

  12. mmsmmsk I decided against SC'ing and have just been bending and tying down, the tops definitely need more light on some, I think ill be able to make a full circle with 3 of them.

next time, ill make sure not to veg for too long and also with most likely be Scroging.

I still need to find an answer of whether its better to bend towards or away from the light. My consensus right now is that bending away and then slowly letting it adjust back over time gradually getting underneath the light again is the best way, because all the other stems are growing up to the same level(SCroging duh)

Thank you sirs, but SC at week 2 or 3 of flowering is just a little too ballsy for me at this stage in the game!

GODSHITMAN56 - how did your SC turn out? Did they heal properly? Do tell.

  13. Supercropping is easy and effective. Once you do it your next problem will be super fat buds. As someone stated even if you do it too hard a little tape for support and a giant knot will form at the break site, stronger than the original stalk. Sort of like when a broken bone heals.
