  1. who out there is a fan of the heavy shit??
i've been for years, problem is i'm still on dialup and can't download songs on a regular basis (maybe once a year, really)

but i still have some cds i listen to (in no order)
    cradle of filth
    lamb of god
    the dilinger escape plan
    deftones
    slipknot
    brujeria
    sepultura
    pantera
    coal chamber
    slayer
black sabbath (they pretty much started the heavy music)
    mudvayne
    soulfly
    blind guardian
and a bunch of crappy nu-metal i don't listen to much anymore

ya, the heavy bands i listen to are pretty limited, but of those cds i have by these artists i just absolutely love 'em

i actually like 'em more if they try to be musical and cut out the growling-type vocals from time to time, i like to hear what they have to say too though lyrrics from these genres aren't always top-notch

what do you all listen to? do you crank it up to piss off other transit users like i do sometimes?? hehehe

  2. I like DEP and Slayer. Slipknot was ok like 3 or 4 years ago with their first album, after that they kinda tanked.

  3. Fuck Yeah! I Love Lamb of God! Slayer is kool, Mudvayne is kool, Pantera kicks ass. Not a bad list man. You like that - you should go to Ozzfest sometime. LoL

  4. whaddya mean KINDA? lol.. of course i only meant the 1st album pfft.. the others stank

  5. eh.. ozzy pisses me off nowadays.. he shoulda stopped releasing music years ago and stay classic.. not to mention his retarded show.. i didn't find it funny

  6. if you like lamb of god listen to there original stuff as burn the preist

  7. Hey,

Black Sabbath is pretty kool, Rhoads had bad-ass riffs. Cradle of Filth never really ever caught my interest. PAN-FUCKING-TERA!! Slipknot has a few good songs on their first album, though I think Mick is a douche. Mudvayne, their newest album is their best IMO. Never really heard much Nu-Metal other than whats on your list, and korn, which annoys me. Peace.

  8. i recently bought "Burn the Priest", that's what kind of set this thread going, that and Miss Machine (The Dilinger Escape Plan)

yo tim, mudvayne's newest: is that their 2nd album or did i miss their latest release (the 3rd???).. i heard SOME of the 2nd album, wasn't really extraordinary.. one thing i hate about mudvayne is the singer will just talk out lyrics instead of sing/scream

  9. Decent list. I'm not much a fan of Slip-Knot, Slayer, or Cradle of Filth though...

Here's some of my favorite heavy bands...

The Bad Luck 13 Riot Extravaganza (now known as The Homicidals)
    Zao
    The End
    Unearth
    Shai Hulud
    God Forbid
    Punishment
    From Autumn To Ashes
    This Day Forward
    A Life Once Lost
    Mortification
    Society's Finest
Project 86 (they're not so much hard metal, but they're definately kickass)
Living Sacrifice (Their newer stuff - Their olderstuff kinda sucks)
    Poison The Well
    Every Time I Die
    Most Precious Blood
    Heinous Anus
    Madball
    Set Ablaze
Lutikris (now known as Norma Jean, who sucks now).

    To name a few :D

My friend has like 3 huge CD binders packs with nothin but hardcore. We used to go to shows all the time (mainly local shit)... Prolly seen a bit over 100 bands live. Most of which are pretty good... The hardcore scene in Philly is insane. It's the HC capital of the planet.

  10. heh, ^That's the kind of list i wish i had .. d'oh.. darned internet connection.. and shit, not to complain, but freakin' ticket prices suck here even for local bands who are never gonna make it anyways, it's such a waste to go to these local shows when half the bands suck ass

way to promote my band lol.. whoops

  11. You 4 got korn. Its not that headbanging but its still pretty badass.

  12. Mweh... Pantera takes care of all my heavy needs. I will never get tierd of listening to Cowbows From Hell... and I can't wait til I get the dimebucker (well actually the whole damn FBD guitar... but I'll settle for the dimebucker) so I can pull off those pinch harmonics.

Heavy, to me though, is Led Zeppelin. Heavy is all about the attitude, in less words, as Ritchie Blackmore once said.

  13. Nah.. then there'd be a whole slue of "heavy" bands that sucked ass and thought they were metal... well there already kind of is, but moreso...
