Headshops in Charlotte, NC?

Discussion in 'Smoking Accessories Q&A' started by Professor Oak, Jun 4, 2010.

  1. I just recently moved to Charlotte and don't know anything about the city. I was just wondering if any of you know of some good headshops around here? If you don't feel comfortable posting in here about it for whatever reason, throw me a PM. This is a pretty damn big city so there have to be some.

  2. what part of charlotte are you in?

there is a 'smoke shop' very close to the university -- cigs, pipes, cigars, etc. in the front of the store and a LOT of glassware, hookahs, pipes, etc. in the back ---WHATEVER YOU DO -- DO NOT MENTION WEED, HASH, ETC. WHEN YOU ARE IN THE BACK.

You WILL be escorted out the door.

I don't remember the name of the place, but it's on 29 in a small shopping strip with an indian grocery store, an ABC store, etc...

    :hello:

They have some zongs and a lot of no name glass tubes grommet and gong. Have seen a few headie pipes but nothing worth noting. They have 50% off sales during the holiday season.

Comments: Located smack dab in the middle of Golf Country, this little shop has a BIG selection. From glass pipes from NC artists and beyond, they have a good selection of head pieces including art from FREEEK, GHOST, DARBY, EUSHEEN, Adam P, Hart Glass, Anderson and more! Also plenty of tubes, with more arriving every month. Tubes from PHIRE, PURE, ADS, Darby (DC tubes), Designs by Pyramid, Dynomite, and much more! Flowland is trying to put the Sandhills' on the map for glass! Not too mention a huge selection of apparel, incense/oils, skateboards, Bob Marley & Grateful Dead Tapestries, and much much more. Well worth the trip....

Comments: Now carrying SYN tubes. Still carry RooR and Lux tubes, reasonably priced about 10 total at each location. RooR classic Bubblers, Limited RooR accessories. Also now carrying a few heady bubblers. Trash Catcher style A/C's. The pipe selection is mainly prodo, lotsa imports in both stores. There have been a few headie pipes in both stores, but never more than 5 and brutally overpriced. Workers are decently knowledgeable and take etiquette very seriously. Look for a 10% off coupon in creative loafing, and NEVER miss the 50% off sales they do around thanksgiving and christmas..

Comments: Not a very good selection of heady glass at all and the tubes are severely lacking, and just about the only good selection and prices he has on tubes are a brand that I can't really discuss here on TC. The owner isn't that knowledgable, no decent pieces and overpriced..

Comments: A great shop carries a bunch of head pieces as well as a wide variety of prodo. If your in the area you should definitely check this shop out. Knowlegdable staff as well, they have come watch us blow and ask questions so they know how to sell and buy good glass.

The Looking Glass Cafe and Botique.
    601 W. Main St..
    Carrboro, NC.
Comments: The store is located in the old Basnight and Sons building with parking right nextdoor. The shop is located in the back room as you walk through the cafe. They have excellent coffee and tea with breakfast items and paninis during lunch. They ask for ID before you enter the shop so don't bother if you don't have one. Great selection of SYN tubes, worked, percs, inlines, stemlesses, regular tubes and acs as well. They also carry a decent amount of local headie pipes at reasonable prices. They carry sharpstone grinders and the lady that owns and works the boutique is real chill. If you go to UNC or live in the area this shop is the best around..

Comments: Wonderland was a very sick shop. ROORs, Roor percs, Roor Kustoms, all shapes and sizes. PHX, JBD, blah blah some Lux percs Headies by a local dude and a few by Eugene - great lil selection and the dudes were super cool! actually knew their glass.- They were the original owners of the Wonderland in Florida but upgraded to Asheville.

  5. Infinity's end, sunshine daydreams, or if you want to make a trip to hickory there is ruptured moon(I go there most the time)

  6. I think infinitys end is a favorite corner. My aunt lives there so I've heard a lot about this place.

  7. I've been to one of the Infinity's End in Charlotte, can't remember exactly where it was but I do remember it being near a McDonald's. Anyways, most of the employee's I've ever dealt with there didn't know what they were talking about and didn't seem to care if they were working or not. Most of the glass seemed severely overpriced as well and the last time I went there really wasn't anything much noting.

  8. By far the best head shop I have visited in charlotte is OneLove. There stuff is kinda expensive but its soooooo nice.

  9. infinitys end and hightimes are the best.

  10. I love my SYN!

One Stop in University is where I've bought all my bowls and bongs. And like previously mentioned, if you say anything about weed they will make you leave. Also, they check your license when you enter.

Also, if you're ever down to smoke or some shit. I always know where the purp is. Hah. :)

  12. I live in the queen city also.

If you live in the university area there are two right beside UNCC. One stop, and Above and Beyond. I think Above and Beyond is owned by the old owner of the chapel hill expressions but I am not really sure.

If you live close to NODA or uptown I would suggest One Love, they have a great selection and a good staff. they actually have some very impressive glass in there. my friend bought a darby inline there recently and another purchased a HiSi. Its worth the drive if your in the university area also.

  13. fellow Queen City residents --- if you're actually fortunate enough to find decent herb -- what have you seen as a good price for mids recently -- 1/8 1/4 1/2?

used to get good mids -- but that guy left the biz due to professional reasons... all of those who followed him have promised the moon, but have only delivered mexi-brick at the same price of the mids? :devious: Pissed the new guy off, but I had to turn it down... spoiled I guess.

    take care

  14. danks everywhere here man

  15. You gotta go to one love. They are actually having a 50% off sale starting this weekend.

  16. omg i didnt know this! is it on today?

  17. dank is not that hard to find. last time i was in charlotte was christmas (home from school) and i got a $70 eighth of what he claimed to be medical bud. i was quite skeptical at first but it was well worth it. I don't know how old you are but you need to get your connect through the rich white kid high schools. Myers Park, Country Day, ect. In my experience, thats where all the good shit is.
to answer the original question it really depends on what you're looking for. i go to infinity's end on south blvd, its where i've gotten my bubbler, bowl and grinder. I paid 40 for my bowl and 32 for my bubbler, 40 for the grinder. all decent stuff that has been around for a year or so and survived some heart stopping drops.

  18. LOL im a white kid who goes to myers park haha. And 70 for an 1/8th is too much no matter how good the bud is.

  19. Word i graduated last year haha. I felt the same about paying that much at the time but it was the only option but still lived up to its reputation.

  20. yea, u graduated from myers park? maybe i know you
