Has anyone ever tried putting their plants outside in the morning (say 6 or 7am) and letting them bask in the sun all day till the sun has peaked and begun going down (6 or 7 pm) then bringing them in and putting them under CFL's to complete their 18/6 cycle?
I'd have to imagine that would increase your chances of coming across a pest problem and then bringing it back into your house.
I used to put a few plants in the window to shut off my lights for a few hours during the day, and they were better looking for it. Greenhouses use a combo of natural and artificial light during shoulder seasons. So I don't think switching between types of light is a problem. I would, however, agree that transferring plants between indoors and outdoors create a risk of bringing in pests. E4A2S
that's how I caught some bugs. The rule is never bring anything into your grow room that has been outside.
