Happy frog potting soil for rooted clones.

Discussion in 'Growing Organic Marijuana' started by Skip I am, Apr 26, 2019.

  1. Is this soil too hot for rooted clones? I also have a good bit of perlite. If it's not too hot how much perlite should I add or not add? Amendments or EWC needed?

  2. HF is far weaker then Ocean Forest and I drop rooted clones straight into OF. So no it's not to hot.
Fox Farms is usually fluffy enough I use it straight from the bag but you can add up to 30% more perlite if wanted with no issues.
Chicken Manure and Sulfur Dust are the 2 amendments I use.

  4. I agree with BNw, Happy Frog is fine to use direct for clones or seeds. I've used happy frog a lot that way, it's not really "hot" like Ocean Forest is known to be.
As he also mentioned, it's fine out of the bag, but if you want it more airy add perlite - personal preference. I tend to add some in myself but i prefer a VERY well draining soil.
