    NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

  2. Why is criticism of Christianity perfectly acceptable, when criticism of Islam considered a form of racism?

  3. I don't know what you are talking about, most Christians don't take well to any criticism of their religion. At least, not where I am from.

I think criticism of Islam is practiced much more widely in America, even pushing it to its limits of racism, as many Americans (particularly in the right-wing) believe that all Muslims or people of Arab descent hold potential to be terrorists. Some of the arguments you see on networks like Fox are ridiculous, but whats worse is that millions of people are listening and inhaling that bullshit as the truth.

I do, however, think you are missing the point of this post. It hardly focused on the Islam aspect, and there is absolutely no solid evidence to prove that Obama is a Muslim, as if that would even change his status as our president, not to mention he regularly practices Christianity. To call Obama a Muslim is a ridiculous attempt at a cheap shot that right-wing politicians do all the time, its pretty common on Fox actually, as if Obama being a Muslim would somehow make him a terrorist. THAT is the racism, the idea that all Muslims are terrorists, and thats the point of this post.

This post is also meant to highlight how absurd some people can be with their views; while criticism of the president is completely understandable and somewhat necessary given his performance, this outright bashing with ridiculous claims towards the president are not the right way to approach this at all, and as a result Williams Jr. has lost his 20 year contract with ESPN.

The point isn't that Williams Jr. was being racist, it was that he is making ludicrous remarks, that honestly rely on racism, and that has now affected his career.

  4. Yeah, I was pretty damn surprised that he would say something so ignorant. His dad's music was so influential... guess the musical talent doesn't extend to his intellectual ability, cuz' that is some dumb shit.

  5. Splooj nailed it. A toast to you, good sir.

  11. Hank Sr and Hank III FTW :smoke:

  12. What do you expect from Hank Jr. He needs to do something to get attention since his music isnt that great. The whole attack Obama feeds in to the rascism, intollerence, and ignorance perpetuated among his fan base. While his dad had more talent he wasnt anything but a drunk redneck either.

  13. are you ready for some footbaaaalllllll

Lets examine how this president hates this country and the extraordinary lengths he would go to, to destroy our grand peace loving realm.  That's what people do these days, they dedicate their lives and massive resources all in a plot to get elected because deep down they hate their country.  Who else would spend as much time as President Obama did campaigning unless he hated this country?  That's the new fad these days, run for an office of a country you despise.

  16. he doesn't hate the country.. he's just not a very good president. (although he did show some balls going agains israel with the Iran agreement.. that was cool)

also, Hank Williams is a tea party crazy psychopath..

and this happened quite a long time ago.

  17.
Well that's not right and you know it isn't.  It isn't a question of if he is or isn't a good president, everyone holding the office should be judged on the historical merits of the job they do with a reasonable support of the legislature.  However what's occurring with the Obama Presidency is a bit different, he hasn't been given the chance to govern for almost five years.  So how can he be judged against what some are trying to do, which is to lie (daily), distract (daily), exaggerate (always), and offer false equivalency after false equivalency?  Why????? If you listen to the GOP its because the president, that has been elected twice mind you, doesn't hold values compatible with Americans.  No this Rogue beast of a president is a Muslim, socialist, Nazi sympathizer, that hates his country and wants to pack the DC Circuit Court of Appeals by filling empty seats.

  18.
well.. i never mentioned any of these things that you mentioned in the end of your post, nor do i believe them nor do i listen to what the loony GOP have to say.
I'm with him all the way with these Iran peace talks and it's actually a breath of fresh air to see.

However, i still do not believe that he is a good president, not because of his party or his skin color but because of what i see as a citizen of the country who does not root for politicians based on party or skin color or what color tie they wear.

I can make you a list (not a copy/paste job) of why i think that if that helps.. but i don't know if this thread is the venue for that.

Is he better than Bush? I'll give you that.. but "better than bush" is hardly a grand achievement.. i think you can agree with that.

and wtf are you up at 3am for? you're way too old for that.. :p

Good morning sir, I should be clear, I don't think you hold those views.  Its pretty apparent from your postings you don't however my contention is that its hard to see anything when the GOP's coordinated attacks against President Obama criticize or obscure not some portion of his presidency or even a majority of it but all of it, everything.  Its in this backdrop I make my observation.  How can one objectively assess a presidency when none of the factors that assisted great presidents are in operation?  The other side isn't just refusing to work with Obama they literally see that allowing the country to fail/default on its debt and a litany of other items as synonymous with only the president's failure.  Which is to say, they are willing to stand by and let the country burn down if they can somehow create the impression its all on Obama and that he maliciously allowed it to happen because he hates this country.

Presidents can only do so much and in many ways they are helpless to events that happen to them.  So a comparison to Bush is meaningless because I don't see President Bush as being a "bad" president, just an entitled guy that got dealt a bad hand.  If 9/11 never happened we might be saying different things about the last president.  Imho America is going to see in the coming years just how many headwinds President Obama faced and that governing was never a realistic possibility for him, not when a segment of society is pining away for an America that's dead and buried.  Watching the GOP these days is like watching a widow weeping over the grave of a lost lover.

What am I doing up?  Reflecting, I'm a frickin' insomniac my man.....  Peace, love, and hope to you throughout your day.

    I hear you man..

Bush made a lot of horrible policy choices post 9/11.. and he ruined Colin Powell's career with that whole 9/11 UN fiasco. The one dude in that administration that i really respected and Bush/Cheney dragged him down with him.
So i think it's safe to say he would have sucked regardless of 9/11. Having Cheney as his partner in crime didn't help any either.

as far as Obama.. you and I have been around the block here long enough to know where the other stands.. so no need doing it again :) I think we've both heard what the other has to say already lol

Happy Thanksgiving to you and family dude..

    ( i hope you're sleeping)
