I may be traveling to Guatemala next winter. Does anyone know the legality of pot there, tolerance, and ease of finding it? (sorry, deleted old thread then decided this probably was the best spot )
It's funny you should ask: I have a bunch of stoner friends who just got back from Guatemala. According to them, weed is everywhere and readily-available but it's not very good. A friend helped cover a photographer's bribe to get into a Mayan ruin and the dude paid him back by sharing a joint.
I saw that but I don't always fully trust what wikipedia says. I would consider marijuana to be highly illegal in the USA (most parts, exceptions of a few states) but you can still find it pretty easy and as long as you smoke in-doors or not out on the public street than you'll be safe. That is good news. I think I will be in Antigua actually. Maybe I'll go to a bar or w/e some night and find some locals my age and ask. Anyone else know anything about this Guatemala & Marijuana?
