It's my first time growing and I was wondering if you can grow seedlings under a 100watt compact fluorescent lightbulb, one of the household spinny dna soft white bulbs. How close would the light need to be to the plants? I think I have to do this because it might be still getting to cold to grow seedlings outside. I think the lowest it's gonna be getting is like a Lo of 47 the entire week and a half. What tempature should I wait for until I put them outside and did I mess up starting them to early and having to start them inside? Also what should I look for in a beginners potting soil that's not gonna be the expensive kind, small budget...you know.

  2. Most likely that CFL is a 100 watt equivalent, not really 100 watts. I would get at least 1 or 2 more for a seedling. And of course, you will need more lights once your girls start getting larger.
