Grow Trays - White vs. Black

  1. In grow rooms operating at high temperatures, would a white grow tray offer temperature advantages over a black grow tray?

  2. Well I cannot be certain seeing I have never used a black grow tray and I have only used white hydro tables. One of the things I could see as a benefit to using a white tray would be to prevent algae growth and reflect light. Studies show that algae prefers darker surfaces to grow on. Now this is not saying algae will not grow on white hydro table because it does, but maybe less then a black one.

  3. That is 100%false. A WHITE grow tray will produce algae at about 10x the rate as black. The reflection of the light helps to grow the algae (uhhhh kinda like all plants). Do your own research to be safe. Now I'm not saying black is "better" but for the algae, black is better

  4. I've used both and haven't noticed much of a difference, although my grow space is usually packed to the point where very little light gets to the trays anyways.
