Im going to my local hardware store tomorrow to get a few things to grow indoor(small closet) and im curious to what would be the best lighting to use(floresent bulbs, normal bulbs,# of watts,etc etc) ive tried this once before with no luck, i put a few planters with 3 seeds in each on a window sil, they sprowted but then later died. Im thinking to let them germinate then keep them in the closet, any tips? please dont say use the search because its unaccurate. thanks
If you want to do a small grow right, I'd get a 400watt HPS. HPS > floro. And germination is easy use the search.
yes, for about $250 on ebay you can get a metal halide/high pressure sodium ballast. if you don't want to spend the $, get as many shop light ballasts as you can ($8 ballast $5 for 2 bulbs at home depot) or cfl's (compact florescent light) which are the spiral bulbs that screw into regular sockets.
