There are alot of thorn bushes near my plants , so i cut some branches and made little pyramids my plants. Great success
Take a piss around the area your plants are. Not on them, yuck. But make a circle perimeter around them. Animals will smell human urine and stay away. I've never done it but have heard and read this works. It's marking your territory.
Piss works awesome for animals that get spooked easy such as deer. However the rabbits ate 7 of my seedlings so I had to plant in 5gal buckets to get them off the ground."
