it's a good thing. login pages for your email accounts run under HTTPS. so do payment pages on sites like eBay and such. it won't slow down the forums, as it'll only be on login pages.

The original post said they're putting the poll up to help them decide if they're to serve the entire forum via SSL. But even then, it won't slow down the site.

 

And it won't slow down the NSA's collection of data either.

 

 
Exactly, as the NSA has the ability to forge SSL certificates, among interception of packets and other trickery. 

 

 
Lol the NSA has computers that can just brute force your average encryption key in short order.
