Good light was broken, need to replace CHEAPP AF

Discussion in 'Smoking Accessories Q&A' started by hellotangerinesky, Dec 23, 2020.

  1. Had to move after starting my new babies, somehow my light was damaged and seeing as how I’m broke with covid crap and the move, I feel like I’m sorta screwed. I need to keep these tangdreams alive so I have a rly sad little grow light on them until I can find a decent cheap one to replace. I mean cheap af but will work for what I’ve got going on-I can’t afford another $400. So I have two tang dreams and a few random seedlings. Secret closet Situation. Ideas?

  2. Should add-autos so time is of the essence

  3. What can you afford ?
    Square footage of grow ?

  4. If I were being a mature grown ass adult I’d say $10 lol. But could prob do 100-200 MAYBE. I just don’t want to ruin these shuts but I’m in the restaurant industry in NYS right now sooo until the government decides to stimulate me I’m in a pickle

  5. Plants. Idk how that autocorrect snuck in

  6. Quality LED lighting is about a buck per watt, and you need 30 actual watts per square foot .
I dislike Mars misleading advertisements ,, but you might ponder buying used Mars 300 watt led lights on E Bay ..
Those lights are not 300 watts they are 135 watts max .
You never said how many square feet your grow is ??????
So you will have to figure out the cost per watt per square foot of grow space .

FYI I have a total of ten Mars 300 watt led blurbles lights for four years ...
There is better lighting ........... but i have never had one fail ........

  7. With that kind of budget I would go with a DIY build. 12 or so bridgelux eb gen2 4' strips powered by 1 hlg-320h-36a would be a good option, still not sure how big your space is though...

  8. I've seen good looking plants from cheap amazon leds, sub $100

  9. Used a Lenofocus LF100(upgraded) this last run. Fantastic results. Amazon $99. 150w dimmable qb set at 120w from factory. Never adjusted it. Maxxed out 1 plant in a 2x2. 180 grams in jars. New record for me for 1 plant, only second run. Refond and Orsum led's, NOT Samsung, if that matters to you. It easily matched the results under the Samsung diodes in my HLG550. Absolutely no regrets for $99.

  10. That is expensive, I guess I cannot aford that.

  11. Thank you all for the ideas! Sorry I forgot about the size. Area is about 2X2/2x2.5. Yeah I normally would go with a higher end Situation but it just isn’t possible. Also I can’t lose these babies and don’t wanna give up on em so I’ll definitely look into the models you’ve listed. Appreciate it !

  12. That does sound really solid I’ll def look into it. My space is about the same size, I’ve got a few autos so not sure how much my yield will be affected by it, but they are a strain known for bigger auto yields so maybe....hmmmmm lol. Thinking out loud. Many thanks

I am not the OP, ( IF) I needed more lighting I Normally only buy lighting parts is from HLG and power suppliers from TRC electronics
I have twenty 160w 2v288 Rspec quantum boards in operation .
Been assembling my own LED lights for 3 years now .
Why are you suggesting lighting to me when I haven't asked for help ?
