I have this handheld pipe or bubbler i can't find out yet, it has a deep built in bowl with 4 holes in the top of it, below the bowl is a section which looks like it should be used for water(empty space) this is the base of the pipe and can be placed on a flat surface. I mean obviously water doesn't work in it, so why does it have such a large empty space for smoke to collect I guess? The standard bowl doesnt work for weed because the holes near the top of it put out your flame
Shounds like you have a pipe for wax. You put the wax in the bottom and hit it with the nail. The smoke/vaper will be rise and pulled through the holes around the top.
