Getting a jump on pets

  1. Hello Good GC Community,

Apparently my young sour diesel plants are being eaten by caterpilars, There are symmetrical portions of leaves just missing, they look like someone cut them out with an exacto knife. It's been suggested to me that caterpillars are the culprit, but damned if I can spot them. At this point it's just two leaves, but obviously I'd like it to stop!

There are plenty of critters in my yard, so I'm quite sure this is only the beginning of my pest problems. What can I do to get ahead of the inevitable? Sprays, ladybugs? Any and all suggestions appreciated.

Also does anyone have a recommendation for a good book on the subject? I have The Indoor/Outdoor Bible by Cervantes (Who I just met at the Cannibas Convention in San Francisco last weekend, incredibly cool guy) but I'm looking for a more in depth book solely on pests, mold, etc.

    Thanks a bunch
    Dub
