How many people believe marijuana is a gateway drug or can be a gateway drug? My opinion is that it all comes down to your own choice. Buying weed from a dealer as well could somewhat make it a gateway drug if they offer you other substances, but it still comes down to your own personal choice.
I don't think it is inhaling smoke that makes an individual immediately want to go shoot up Egyptian animal tranquilizers mixed with gasoline. It's their mindset, not a plant. How one could believe that is beyond me.
I knew what drugs i wanted to try long before i ever touched weed so i say no. If you want to get technical i'd say alcohol and cigs are more so a gateway drug than weed.
For me, at least, trying weed and seeing that everything I had ever been told about it was a lie made me much more open to the fact that I could've been lied to about everything else. In that way, weed was my gateway to drug knowledge.
