Gambling?

  1. Okay, its another controversial topic brought to you by Sir Stoner, my question is why do people gamble? I mean really, i am proud to say i have never bought 1 lottery ticket, or gambled money on 1 card game. Why would anyone do this? I wouldnt think its fun?

  2. Its an opportunity to make money, and its also a thrill. Some people are literally addicted to the high of the risk involved, others can control it, and for others it does nothing. I rarely gamble anymore, but I used to play a bit of dice. I felt like I was good at it even though its really just chance

  3. Winning is like a drug. You can lose 9/10 times, but that one time you win and double or triple your money is awesome. It's just like any other high people chase.

Everything about how a casino is designed is made that way to keep people inside and gambling. The layouts are confusing and the machines all look similar so it's hard to find your way out, there are no clocks or windows so you don't realize how much time you've spent there, the machines are constantly making sounds (and even the losing sounds still sound "happy"), and as with any gambling device, the machines are programmed to let you win just enough that you think there's hope so you keep pumping money in.

  4. My parents are addicted to it, but they have the money to blow.

I guess it is kind of like an arcade for adults, they like when the win but they almost always come home with less money.

    It is sort of sad...

  5. Hmmm...im going to build my own casino, ill have lots of alcohol so the people get drunk and spend all their money and have a marijuana den, if you dont know, a marijuana den is a room with hookahs and you can smoke weed legally and ill charge 20$ for entry, and lots of emotionally damaged girls wearing skimpy outfits offering customers alcohol. I just need the money to start it up

  6. It's fun. I like gambling on sports. College football I'm really fucking good at for some reason I find it easy. Other sports are hard for me.

I bet on free gambling sites...the chances of me ever making money are very remote but I do it because I enjoy it and makes the games more entertaining.

  7. Well at least sports gambling is 50/50 odds unlike casino games

  8. Not necessarily. I could be wrong because I've never done it, but I think you can bet on different parts of the game, like the point spread, etc..

  9. Yeah in MMA betting you can bet on how your pick will win, what round, etc...

  10. I get the occasional scratch off because it is exciting wondering if you'll win. I like cashword, they give you a fair amount of time to get excited and they're only $2 a piece. I'll also play the occasional poker with my brother and friends. We just play for like $5 usually, enough to not matter at all but still give some incentive. Its just fun to smoke a lot of weed and play cards.

  11. I don't play lotto or scratch offs unless I get em as a stocking stuffer and shit...But I do gamble in a sense. I buy "Lots" of jewelry, and that in its self if a form of gambling, if done for certain reasons. When I say "lots" I mean auction lots, comprised of multiple items and groupings of "unsorted" or sorted jewelry, not lots like bunches and bunches, even though it does apply in both senses. Lots can be very profitable. When I purchase these so called lots, beforehand I do my best to scan and see if anything looks like gold or silver, precious stones, valuables, you name it. Some of them are online, so further examination is quite diffacult, but the ones in person sometimes do not allow digging through to see the items. Its normally a blind buy. Then I bid, sometimes way more than I should, In hopes that I strike "gold" and silver. Striking gold or silver is not uncommon, actually, it always happens, just to what extent? Well, sometimes ounces and ounces of gold jewelry can be found, and sometimes only enough to cover the expense is found, and you are left with a heaping pile of what would otherwise be deemed worthless. So its certainly a gamble, but you can end up with pieces worth in excess of 100X what you paid for the whole lot too if you pick well.

Fun as shit either way. Especially since 99% of the time atleast some gold and silver is found, other times a bunch can be found.

  12. I don't gamble to often, I hate losing my money that way  many of my friends are addicted to vlt's. They get that one big pay day, and their mind comprehends it as a victory. Yet they are already down hundreds of dollars from the previous games. It's a pretty vicious cycle for someone who has an addictive personality.

If I've got some extra cash lying around I'll go play, or bet on sports. Although it happens rarely

  13. I used to film/photograph at a fight stadium 3-5+ times a week for my gym and would bet on them all the time. It was just fun I guess. With 8-12 fights on one card I could win my rent money in one night lol.

  14. when u win that money >>>

    its feels good

makes u addicted the first time u win

you also wanna make ur money back when u lose ( rarely make it back)

also gambling on sports makes the game so much more intense!!

  15. I have quite the tale for this...

One day a buddy of mine and i see a building named "internet sweepstakes", and decided to go in and check it out. We quickly find out that these are places of legal "gambling" in a sense. They use computers running programs to reveal "entries" that you purchase. The entries are always in pennys, based on what you put in, so $20 = 2000 credits. The deal with these places though, is that they give you a $5 comp once per day if you play $20. So we tried it out and i dont even remember i won or not, but we liked it. This particular system they had has a jacks or better card game on it, which we found if played at minimum bets, can almost always guarentee your $20 back, and usually a few bucks more. We never went regularly, just on a hey were in Austintown, lets go play basis.

Once i turned 18 (they let me play at the first place for some reason without carding) we started to check out other places, and there happened to be TONS more. literally 20+ in surrounding citys. The systems were always different, and i remember the awesomeness of it all. we won. im not even going to lie, i felt like i was robbing these places. We would bring in $60 a night on average. the secret? using these comps. if you take the 25 "dollars" in credits they give you, play the LOWEST bets on the "best" games (we always argue if they are any different or just skins) you will come out with ATLEAST $10 on the first run through, and the profits could go to infinity. so we would just always quit after our first runthrough of credits, cash out and move to the next place, take our $5 comp and play, cash out, repeat. I have records of what we won, over a few months an excess of $1000 was given to me by these places, simply playing 25 cent bets...

Fast forward, i still play to this day, almost never follow the rules, but im not addicted to it. and mix that with a little smoke and damn it gets hard to quit. My best hit was a royal flush for $600 on a 75 cent bet. :)

  16. When you're gambling on a card game you're playing the game wrong.

People like testing their systems to see if they can beat the countermeasures, take Hold-Em for instance...I can fake out the guy next to me with this 7 2 off suite because his betting is weak, which means I might not have to even play this worthless hand to take what is in the pot or he could be duping me into thinking that and his system beats mine.

For some the gambling is just a sidenote of what they are actually there for...You can't get famous in the garage with the guys playing for nickels.:coolalt:

  17. For me it is just another form of entertainment. I dont see any difference in dropping $100 on a show and dinner versus spending the same amount in a casino. Sports betting is even more fun because you can bet on damn near everything in the game, and if your smart can make money. Every football season I start with $100 in my sportsbook account. If I lose it then my season is over but most years I make a couple of hundred.

  18. You can bet on almost every part of the game in most cases. Who will score first, who will score next, who will be ahead at the end of the half or quarter, who will win outright, who will beat the spread, and so on.

  19. Thank jay719 for this good information. It is useful for me and a great help in betting.

  20. I’m not a heavy gambler but I enjoy going to casinos . I get comped out . This week I’m going down and I’m staying fri sat and Sunday for free. Each night I get free play 150-200 a night and pretty cool gifts n stuff .me n my girl share one card and get double the comp. dropping a couple hundred each over the course of a 3 day weekend is worth it right on the ocean over looking the water no less ~ vape
