Fungus Gnats

Discussion in 'Sick Plants and Problems' started by spliffdaddy, Jun 17, 2013.

  1. Hi all!

Currently battling off some fungus gnats and was just looking for some extra advice and opinions! Currently I am drying the soil out as much as the plants can handle so the larvae struggle, I have added more fans to make flying conditions tough for them, and finally I have cut out cardboard circles with a slit in them that fit around the plants in the 2 gal containers to prevent the adults from laying anymore eggs. I am also taking the time to sit around and kill any adults left flying around that I see. Basically my questions are these:

    1. Is there anything else I can do to speed up the process?
    2. Do you believe what I am dong is effective enough?
    3. How long does it usually take to eradicate the gnats?

    Thank you!!!
