Fromunda Rides Again

  1. Happy dance! Was going through a box of some older buds that need to get smoked. Most of them were strains that were not loved. Forgot there are two jars of chemdog x gg4 curing since April that I decided to put away and forget about. Total. chem. smash. Don’t know why it tastes so good, but it just tastes so good. I have been hanging onto her mom because I suspected these flowers were as tasty as they are. Just cut a couple clones from her this evening. Need some more of this in my life. 62128463-796B-4102-B46F-E9B3D87C769B.jpeg

  2. Morning blades. Whole damn family came down with rona this week. Wife and I are vaccinated. My kids both have mild colds. Fortunately, everyone’s doing well.

The ladies downstairs are 4 days into 12-12. Had some time on my hands yesterday, so I took a pack of pipe cleaners and adjusted all of the taller tops to the centers of their squares. Everything is nice and level and bracing for takeoff, which should start any day. My ocd self is loving it. The bamboo stakes mark the corners of each pot. ALP is left. TF is center. FP is right. 3. Today is day 6 of 12-12. Still just pinching shoots other than the tips of each main branch and tucking fans. I find pinching the shoots and leaving the leaves makes sure every branch is well-powered into the stretch. Most of those fans will get removed later once they are buried in the canopy. Their tops are becoming more defined as they put on height.

Will be adding another oscillating fan below the canopy for circulation. Holding off on a second screen until I see where the stretch is heading. The fp (right) may be the only one that needs support. There’s an OG in that wood pile and she’s going to launch at some point soon. If I wasn’t such a pothead, I would have put her under the HLG on the left. It throws a smaller footprint than the sf-2000 and I can adjust it for her without affecting the others much. Oh well, coulda shoulda. 8A92F92A-B591-435B-9D25-FFCF5F647BB5.jpeg

  4. First day of week 2 since flip. Just starting to stretch. Taking 4ml/gal each of M/G/B along with 2ml of cal-mag. Not telling me yet that they want more p or k or less n. Runoff is dead steady 6.0 pH and about 600ppm, same as input. Have been feeding them 2-3 times a day most days. They are in big enough containers that they only need 1, but they are tuned in and want as much as you have time for. Starting to see pre-flowers everywhere and smell a lil sumptin. 5. Day 10 since flip. Starting to show a few clawing leaves, so I am backing down the n a bit. Stacking themselves in with leaves a bit due to my cramped space. Did a light defol to help the airflow between the top and bottom of the net. Ladies are happy. 4A686686-2AF8-44CB-81DB-0B1597EBCEF6.jpeg

  7. Thanks dude. In fairness, these 3 ladies always make me feel better at this than I prolly am! I like testing out new stuff, but I have to say I am enjoying dancing with a few I know really well and that like to behave

  8. Looking stellar man, such nice work you do on that canopy. Beautiful stuff for sure, can't wait to see the buds on those girls.
Sorry to hear you got da Rona, hope you all do fine getting thru it.
Cheers to some more dank buds!

  9. Day 12 since flip. The girls are headed north. Nice push in the last 24. Did some selective pinching of side branches that there won’t be room for. Dropped their n by 1ml per gallon and upped their PK by the same amount. They are digging the adjustment. Canopy is very thick, but everything is pruned underneath so the active growth is all seeing sunshine.

On a related note, cuttings of these three girls along with a purple pheno citradelic sunset and a Kilimanjaro land race sativa that I keep around are headed for a buddy’s sweet ass commercial grow in Michigan today. They are going into a fully automated system that is like very little I have ever seen. Can’t wait to see what they are capable of in a legit environment that is not in a plywood box in my basement! 10. Happy Monday blades. We are at day 15 since flip. Showing a few pistils in their tops. Stretching like crazy. Started thinning out mid-level big fans to open things up a bit. They have plenty left to keep them well-powered without undue shade to any bud sites.

    Thanks for popping by. Cheers

  11. Good morning people of the universe. Day 17 here. The girls have launched, particularly the FP. Kicked on the dehu yesterday. We were running a bit moist for how cool is the space was running. Usually by this time of year, my furnace is drying and warming my environment, but it has been nice weather and virtually no HVAC running. The dehu has it back in a VPD range I am digging. 56 to 58% RH, and 75 to 77°F. Girls are thanking me for it this morning and just look overall happier and perkier. VPD… know about it 63FEFF96-2CDE-47AA-BAF1-0EFA48C7224E.jpeg

Showing a few tacoed leaves this morning. Knocked 20% off both lights to give them a cloudy day and see if they don’t shake it. They are fine, but this begins the phase of their life where I treat them much differently in terms of keeping them as happy as humanly possible. Like the beer and massages for Kobe beef cattle…lol. They will make flowers no matter what, but in my experience, the happiest plants make more and better flowers, and that’s what we’re all here for anyway, right?

Go grow some weed people. Cheers

Just finished drying some ice water hash I made earlier this week. It is some super head hash that I made for myself. Wife won’t touch it. Gives her panic attacks. 50-50 mix of sour diesel and the amnesia lemon pie in this journal. Just made from trim. No buds. It lands pretty crazy hard in yo face. I try not to crack into it too frequently because it fucking toasts my tolerance, but it’s pretty hard for me to resist. B07E48EE-C5F9-4BA4-AEA6-E74032DC88A3.jpeg

  13. Today is day 22 since flipping to short hours. So begins the second trimester. The ladies are stretching their legs and should be about to top out and start building some flowers. All three girls are showing the beginnings of resin glands, but no visible frost yet. Still removing some of the interior fans to keep light penetrating down into the canopy.

Has been smooth sailing thus far. Here’s hoping it stays that way! My questionable planning has resulted in a big lopside in my canopy. Will let everyone reach their final height and then decide how best to resolve that. No real room to super crop the fruity pebbles. Seems like each time I run her her tops get a little smoked because of how lanky she gets, but she packs on the weight all the way down. Here’s where we are as of today

Just started soaking some new seeds that I am stoked about. I have been working with a few buddies around the country for years getting together a seed breeding project. It’s primarily based in Nevada. These are some gelato and GSC F1’s that were made by crossing a few really good finds. 96A8CBC2-00F8-4234-B6B6-A8DE7F488C7E.jpeg Looking for selections to make F2’s to use for further breeding. Have been working on pulling this together for about 10 years and I’m super stoked that its getting moving. The best of these will be going into a 3 x 3 tent to veg. Haven’t decided where/how many will get flowered yet.

    Thanks for stopping by. Cheers

  15. These new little ladies popped nicely. Very consistent. Within hours of each other. Still waiting on one last GSC, but she’s pushing out and should be up tomorrow. Planning to cull down to a couple each of the GSC and gelato, but will veg them all for now and see what we have for plant structure. 936DC52A-1456-492E-ADEB-21CE00E50488.jpeg

The big girls are ripping. They hit 30 days tomorrow. Getting nice and funky in my space. CCEC726D-D412-4B91-9A14-0FB94DEE7C09.jpeg Still haven’t decided how/if I am going to deal with my lopside. The ALP (left) & TF (center) are both taking about all the light they can before they taco. The FP is handling it really well thus far despite being several inches closer. These three not the ideal choice to grow together, but they are what I want to smoke and that’s usually how decisions get made here. Cheers

Sprouts are coming along. One of the gsc’s got stuck in her shell and didn’t survive me cracking it. 8 out of 9 looking great. I will consider it the universe’s preference for even numbers (my ocd really likes them too for some reason!). Will likely flower 2 of each once I see who I like best.

Revamped my veg/sometimes auto cabinet to add an upper shelf for clones and babies. They end up sitting out with my moms and the environment is marginal for them…too cold and dry. Heat from the veg lamp should keep everything g nice and toasty. (Citradelic sunset mom chilling on the lower deck)

  17. Time for a quick update. Day 39 of 12-12. Everyone moving along. The amnesia lemon pie and the thunderfuck picked up a mild calcium deficiency. I changed my RO system a few weeks ago and apparently backed off their ca too much too fast. My old filters were shot and they were getting quite a bit of ca. Misjudged ca supplement when I put them back on 0 ppm water. They are sorted now and back to happy.

  18. Hello people of earth. Things have been super crazy the last couple weeks and I have been lax in updating my journal. The ladies are 7 weeks plus a couple days since flip to 12-12.

all three of these ladies are doing their thing, but the fruity pebbles is really loving this style of grow. The other two are less impressed, especially the Thunderfuck. Should have pinched off more side branches during the stretch. She’s pretty packed in and is not getting great light penetration. Frost game on all of these ladies is on point and buds are nice and solid. Here is where we are today.

    I’m not dead yet…

last few months have been hell. Had a pretty moderate round of corona late last year. Got over it pretty quick but it left me with pretty terrible long Covid. Serious fatigue, vertigo and generally unable to function along with a bunch of other symptoms. Fortunately heart and lungs are good. Didn’t stop growing weed, but did end up taking a break from the city along with my business and a lot of other things.

I will post some thing like a full update soon when I’ve got a bit more juice, but wanted to start getting my journal back to normal. It really helps me keep track of what is going on. In any event, here are a couple pics of a few that are cooking now.

My photo space is at six weeks and two days since flip to 12-12. I am running six ladies right now. The back row is a Girl Scout cookies on each side and a lanky purple marmalade in the middle. Hate how lanky that pm is, but her buds are just excellent. I’ve got a few more seeds in veg and I’m hoping to find one as tasty that’s not quite so stretchy. Front row is a fruity pebbles on the left (because she continues to be a hero… That little plant will drop about 3 ounces of rockhard nuggets), gelato in the center and citradelic sunset on the right.
    EF35A00A-6ACB-41D0-950A-81990FD757DF.jpeg
The cookies and gelato are from a collaborative breeding project I’ve been working on with some friends. The gelato is looking good but not incredible. The cookies on the other hand, especially this one, is a queen. Cuts of her are going to be used for further stabilization of this strain. She is very far along for just starting week seven and looks to finish faster and far larger than her sister. 04B95C57-44BD-470F-8C6D-D07EB0BF2761.jpeg

Also have this mango smile auto from Mephisto that has been cranking along over in my tent. I have utterly lost track of how long she has been with me and she had a rough first month, but she is flowering hard now. Only LST for her. The rail on the right is her top laid all the way over. I’m glad she is moving along, because I’ve got another one going that a few inches tall that is going to want some space before long. All of these girls are in 3 gallon bags of coco with about 25% perlite getting gh 3-part. 369B4BD2-5F8A-4923-9B8C-CC2D91C6F568.jpeg

Hope everyone’s grows are killing it. Feels good to be back. Cheers

  20. So I had the girls out today to check them for mold and any other issues. Had time to take a few shots and post an actual update. These ladies will all hit seven weeks of 12–12 on Monday except for the fruity pebbles. Gave a plant to a friend and had to grab a clone out of the veg tent to replace. She just hit 5 weeks on Wednesday. She runs pretty quick though so it shouldn’t cause much delay.

Here are the ladies flowering now. The first 2 up are GSCs.
