I tried bees two years in a row and our winters were so bad both years I lost the bees. Those were the record breaking years of cold two years ago. Then a neighbor bee keeper offered to supply the bees and upkeep the hive in exchange for using the land we get a few quarts of honey. We have multiple apple orchards and gardens where I like to grow a large variety of winter squash. My wife also sells cut flowers so we have large beds of different flowers throughout our property.
