Free Marc Emery!

  1. As some of you may or may not know, Marc Emery is going to turn himself in to the British Columbia Supreme Courthouse tomorrow while awaiting the judge's decision on whether to extradite him to the United States. For those of you who don't know, back in 2005 Emery was charged with exporting seeds to the United States via the internet and now is facing charges of felony possession, exporting, and intent to distribute. I feel this shouldn't be a matter of the United States, however, because it was the Canadian government that allowed him to export across the border without stopping it.

If Emery were to be extradited to the United States, he would be moved to a federal prison in Seattle, Washington that is used to hold illegal immigrants and Central/ Southern American drug cartel members. However, if Marc were to remain in Canada and be charged there, his penalties would most likely be less hard than those to be given in the USA. But he will most likely not be allowed to return to Canada after his prison time in the US because of Canadian politicians fear of his transfer of "organized crime."

I just wanted to see how everyone felt on this momentous topic that could drastically alter the distribution of seeds worldwide and may affect us US citizens epically. Please feel free to discuss you thoughts Marc's charges and incarceration.
