Free Energy

  1. Anyone interested in free energy? I think its pretty cool and with snitching power companies and high electric bills it could be the way to get real free weed. If you know of any working devices that may power a 600-1k watter let me know.

  2. Solar panels/wind turbines.

  3. Or like many farmers/woodsowners do around here. Provided they got a small stream running through their property. They build a small dam, install a small hydroelectric turbine and are pretty self-provided with electricity. The surplus they sell to the highest bidder. Typical yield from these turbines is anywhwere between 30-100kw/h. Depending on size of stream/dam/turbine.

Ofcourse, in winter when the streams have this tendency to freeze over (or late summer when they might dry out), they have to buy power from an electric company like everyone else, but all in all most make a healthy profit. Even after considering the initial installment costs when spread out over say a 10 year investment horizon.

Say if your household use 3kw/h on average, that adds up to around 26000kw/h per year. If you have a small hydroelectric power plant, running 8 out of 12 months (4 month downtime due to frost or drought) and yielding let us say 50kw/h, that will produce around 290000kw/h per year.

Around here 1kw/h cost around 0.05 Euro (0.1 USD) for the consumer. Already by being self sufficient, you save 1300 Euro a year. And sell the surplus (typically at 2/3 consumer price, let us just say 0.03 Euro) for around 8000 Euro per year. (16000+ USD)

Providing you do all the work yourself (except connecting to the grid ofcourse), initial investment shouldn't be much over 25-30000 euro. Or the price of a good car. Throw in a yearly overhead of 1000 Euro for maintanance/interest on loan, and it should all be running at a pure profit, all costs paid, after about 5-6 years.

So start digging, be like the beaver and get those dams erected :)
