can i use the non hydroponic grow big in my hydro system? cuz i got the trio and wasnt aware their was 2 different kinds......
I dont see why not, ph will probably be an issue , but you can lower or raise it, hydro is like 3-2-6, where soil version is like 6-4-4, I would think the added nitrogen would be a benefit compared to the hydro version.
Ive never grown with Hydro but I do have .02¢. Thats a pretty big risk. I dont know exactly why, but they do make two kinds for a reason. I think you should try and take it back to the shop you bought it and try and exchange it. They'll proly hook you up if its unopened/unused. Even if you didnt buy it there. Good Luck.

The soil nutrients wont work the same as hydroponics nutrients. The nutrients for hydro are readily available for the plants to take in. The soil nutrients are meant to be broken down in the soil first. They are organic correct? You could maybe try using microbes in your hydro system to break down the nutrients into a readily available form for you plants. Beneficial ones that is But you will still have to buy innoculant to get the microbes started. You also may still have the PH issues. I personaly would go for the hydro nutrients, sucks but sometimes we make mistakes! Of course i could be totally wrong and someone could come in behind me and tell you these nutes are perfectly fine. With the ph, how often are you checking and adjusting? sometimes it takes a while for ph to settle. Maybe try adjusting it and coming back about a half a day later to see if it leveled to what you want.
i believe grow big is actually the only one of the three for which there is a hydro alternative. I used the soil version in my hydro setup, and a friend used the hydro version in his, and if anything my growth was much better. i haven't had any problems with overnuting whatsoever, though i do half dose them. the one you really have to worry about is the flowering nute. if you don't give it a seriously solid shake before pouring, everything in the bottle will settle overnight. i was really disappointed, since i pretty much know it's doing the same thing in my tank.
