This is my first time hps and just want to know if my lights are far enough away for 250w?? They are 2ft, had them at 12" but noticed this morning the leaves pointing upwards! Heat is also an issue and is hitting 35+c but dont have the money atm to buy a proper cooling/extraction system just yet (ambiant room temp outside the tent is 20+c) ALSO MK HAS BEEN SPROUTED 3 DAYS!!! 250w is a decent light for one or two small plant. But if you can't find a way to keep temps lower in the next week you should change setup or abort. At the seedling stage like yours, try to find around the house a cfl 6500k. like that or even better a t5 or t8 fixture This is what I did first grow veging with 250w no exhaust.
Thankyouu the last 3 i have done was with those 6500k so deffo got few lying aboutt it seems now tho more air i let in the hotter it gets fml lool id like to think its just because of the size of the tent!will be upgrading tent size soon to home 6 and will putting up the power to 600w and adding another 600w what wpuld be best cooling system to add???? hi there i veg my plant/s under a 125wCFL blue spec then flower under a 250w sodium ,,heres a picture of the special kush just before harvesting ,,,luck with your grow ,,,mac.
For seedling if you have those cfl don't waist a day hook off you 250hps and use 1 or 2 6500k cfl right now!!!! Put them 2 inches away from sprout till you see 3rd set of true leaves. For veging if you are in a tent let the door open on the top above lights level it will help stays cool. This is still my first grow now I'm with 600w hps same plant I showed you... I'm trying to figure out best way to keep temps under control. I have 400cfm extractor straight outside plus 100cfm intake seems to be good but as far as the best system you need a air cooled hood my friend but its expensive !!!
Managed to get temps down to 29c coming on nice 5days from she sprouted out of soil!! Amended top of soil with dehydrated coco block because water was running strait through to drip tray.
sorry mate i never bother to weigh my weed ,,but the yield could have been a lot better ,,plant was not that big because i put her in to flower a bit to soon as i thought because it had some sativa in the cross it would stretch a bit more but it didnt ,,oh well i'll know next time to get her more veg time ,,,mac,
400w hps 40cm from canopy 600w hps 60cm from canopy 1000w hps 100cm from canopy That's a good starting point. Never used the tiny 250w.
