ok, heres the deal, i have a surge protector screwed into a like the top flap of a really thick cardboard box, i'll draw a picture to explain further more,, Does this pose a fire hazard? sorry for such poor quality drawings, i was in a hurry...
Personally i dont like to have cardboard anywhere near my setup. Especially not right next to the outlets where ive seen sparks plugging and unplugging things.
What's the cardboard for? If it's acting as a reflector or something, you could go to the hardware store and buy a metal "For Sale" sign for $1.00 and use that instead. Maybe even bend down the edges for better reflection. But yeah, I'd be worried about electrical wiring near cardboard.
