Favorite dodge make/model

  1. There is a night & day difference between the design in the old true hemis and the new breed. The true hemispherical head is no longer there. That is why the real hemis have heads the size of lunch trays haha.

  2. The true perfectly hemispherical head was outdated for a reason, they found that a slightly off perfect hemisphere was better. Sure the old engines had massive heads, but several companies offer a great crate/ heads/ cam deal that in no doubt would give an old hemi a run for its money. It's not that rare either, plenty of people have done it.

  3. So the Challengers, Chargers, Vipers, Rams, and Calibers all have the same name now?

  4. It was briefly mentioned, but it needs a picture and this thread needs a break from all the new shit.

  5. Dana 60s, 70s, 14 bolts. . . would be plenty enough to handle that motor.

as for my favorite dodge, probably the ACR Viper

  6. You're forgetting that having an untouched original 426 means much more than some guy today that just walks onto a dealer lot and buys a new "hemi". They DOUBLED the price of the car. They were literally banned
NASCAR engines..and they were still detuned!

Not saying the old hemis arent awesome. And I don't think you read what I said even a little bit. I'm talkin about real hemis you cant just buy from the dealer. And if you wanna talk about doubling the sticker price check out SE vs SRT, haha while not a true hemi still doubled

  8. The reason for the big hemisphere was for valve clearance and flow. The crate motor you speak of could be a recasting of the original, I'm not sure.

The first hemi was a 2500hp v16 airplane motor. After that there where a few smaller motors, then the 426. the first 426 was a no nonsense motor. It produced over 600, and people say that was a mild sided ball park estimate. Haha, I am so proud to be a Mopar man.

  9. I didn't think aftermarket internals were the topic at hand, hence my post that made no mention of them.

I come in peace, but I thought by 'favorite dodge' thread meant favorite stock dodge. :confused_2:

Now for some mopar porn. What else can pull off plum purple so well? Original rallys? Sex on wheels.

  10. If only the amount of pussy that has been pulled was documented. . .

Classic classic car right there. If it has a 426 it is worth a few bones haha,(200,000$)

    Nice car!

  11. 2003 Dodge Viper no other vipers can compete with it

  12. SRT refers to them having the viper motor in them rather than their usual stock motor. it's still considered stock but how the ford f150 raptor is stock ready for offroad

  13. So the SRT-4 had a viper engine in it?

SRT refers to the Street and Racing Technology. The Charger doesn't have the viper motor. The SRT8 charger/challenger have the 6.4l hemi, the SRT10 has the v10 viper, the srt6 had a turbo six , and the srt4s had turbos too. SRT designates that that division of mopar made their own edition, most are slightly limited production runs with distinct lettering. The number after SRT determines the engine.

  15. alright you got me on that. around here if somebody get's a dodge srt it usually has the viper engine.

i'll admit when i'm wrong lol.

  16. Not trying to call you out, just spreading the knowledge lol. And that's awesome theres so many SRT10's in your area, are they in trucks or vipers?

  17. well mostly trucks since this is kentucky aka truck country. i've seen some challenger srt's but idk if they make them with the srt-10.

i've seen a couple vipers around since we get some really rich people with all the horse farms and racing. id o have to say, with a few of them i was disappointed with the way they sounded.

No it didn't. It was factory under-rated at 425 horse , what they actually will
throw down built to stock specs in in the 490 to 530 range , and yes they can be built to the 600 and above mark , however it's a LOT cheaper to build an RB based Wedge to
said mark and the Wedge is one hell of a lot better street motor.

One of my current toys is a '65 Belvedere two door , 505 inch Wedge , B-1 heads
prepped by Barton ( they did the stroker crank as well) 12.5 to 1 , .640 lift 312 duration , sheet metal custom intake , Barry Grant 1050 Dominator. This piece
backed by a 9 inch ford rear ( MUCH lighter than the Dana 60 and jusr as strong)
with 4.30s and minitubbed , 727 with 5000 stall converter runs consistent 9.40s
in street trim , meaning through the mufflers and on street legal Hoosiers or
E.T. Streets. That's strictly on motor , no sense whatsoever spraying it until
I back half the car , and I hesitate to do so since there are not many left around
    anymore.

I've got a rather interesting little sleeper '70 Dart with a stroker smallblock that runs
in the mid 10 range through a 5 speed and a Curry prepped 8 and 3/4s with 4.88s
a bit overgeared but it's HELL on wheels stoplight to stoplight , I had Alston do
the ladder bars and tweak the chassis and it hooks hard enough to pull the front
18 inches or so on street legal rubber , surprises the Chevy crowd and the 5.0
    crowd fairly often.

For what I've got into those twp rides I could have ONE Hemi car and I'd still be
spending money , it's *easy* to tie up twenty grand in a Hemi. And that's just in
the motor alone , not counting chassis and the driveline components.

  19. 427 chevy spanks a 426 hemi

  20. I just bought a 2006 Charger, so gotta go with that now I guess.

Looked at the Challengers and could only find V-6 around me, so the Charger it was.
