Enough to make Cannabutter?

Discussion in 'General' started by sky blue, Jan 5, 2013.

  1. Hey im asking these questions here because I searched for the answers but could not find a proper answer anywere, Im have a bowl full of Leaves and Stems from my trimmings, About 10 grams and then I will be adding 2 different kinds of bud which are unknown what strains they are. But about 4 grams of bud with the 10 grams of shake, The question is How many cups of water do I use and How many grams of butter for this mix? I have two 454 gram sticks of butter which is apparently more then what your suppose to use cause the sticks of butter are usually around only 115 grams per stick? but how much of this would I use? Cut it in half since its more or what? How many grams of butter and cups of water would I use for this? Also how long and what temperature would I cook this on the stove for?

  2. It's hard to use 'too much' water, because all you're doing is evaporating most of it, it's added mostly to keep the butter from burning I believe.

Use one stick. If it's a standard stick and not some weird offbrand log of butter.
About a pound is the standard weight of a stick of butter.

    No

28 grams in an ounce, 16 ounces in a pound, soooo... 448 grams of butter.
Go for 2 cups of water.

Slow boil for 3 to 4 hours at no higher than 280(F), bake at no higher than 300 to 320(f)

  3. Thanks, so do you think about 10 grams of shake is enough to make good cannabutter?

  4. Depends how strong you want it and what the shake looks like, but that should be good enough.
