Electronic music

Discussion in 'Music genres, Bands and Artists' started by Mogwai, Dec 1, 2011.

  1. I love electronic music.. I know it's such a broad genre, but I like damn near all of it haha. House, techno, ambient electronica, and whatever else. The only stuff I can think of off the top of my head I don't like would be dubstep and stuff that's super fast tempo...

    I'm currently looking for new artists to get into and would like to know of some new stuff to check out. I'd also just like to know what you electronic fans are into. So let me know

  2. Double posting for organization. I'll go ahead and detail a few artists to get shit started.

    Artist - Ratatat

    My favorite electronic group I think. I think they've got the best production of any music I've ever heard. I can't begin to figure out how the fuck they've managed to make some of the sounds they have. I mean, I know they layer and reverse a lot, but still, it's just insane to imagine making such a sound as they often do.

    Here are some songs:

    [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8WQiEqy8Pa4]Ratatat - Breaking Away - YouTube[/ame]

    [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ecHfCKvPbBs]RATATAT - MANDY - YouTube[/ame] (2:30 onward is some of the most insane sounds I've ever heard)

  3. One more

    Crystal castles

    A decent group I suppose. I don't dig all of their stuff but what I do I really really like. Sorta 8 bit but not entirely. Carries really good energy though

    [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PR3XB-982Bg]Crystal Castles - Black Panther - YouTube[/ame]

    [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ur1dzzyKMwQ]Crystal Castles - Knights - YouTube[/ame]

    Been really into J-Core lately, it has a UK hardcore feel with it's own feel. I know how much GC hates Japan and hardcore so I decided to post it here though I feel it merit's it's own thread.

    not nobodies but still..its from the 90s and its a great song. it could almost pass for a modern song.
    [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2wJDIssLOkk]BT - Flaming June (BT & PVD Mix) - YouTube[/ame]

    also i don't know if you listen to metal at all but you might like it lol, any metal is underground and hard to find (any real metal anyway). even the shitty bands are hard to find, so good bands are much harder than that.

  19. Good music shouldn't be hard to find. Good music should be everywhere.
