  1. :confused: Trying to figure out what my electric consumption is and if someone can show me the formula for figuring it out with my numbers...

    i have a 600 watt 12 hour a day
    8 fluros 40 watt each 18 hours a day
    a inline fan 125 watt running 24/7
    3 fans two 12 inch fans and one 8 inch fan wattage?????
    and one heating mat 45 watts running 24/7
    6.3 cents per kwh is the rate

    can someone show me how you would figure out this for daily power consumption and how much per month it cost ... THANKS

  2. Howdy,

    Im no math major but i will take a crack at it.

    The Breakdown :

    (Big light) 600X12hours= 7400w
    (8 floro's) 8X40X18=5760w
    (inline duct fan) 125X24=3000w
    (12'in inline fans ) 50X2X24?=2400w
    (8in fan0 25X24?=600w
    (heating mat) 45X24=1080w

    So for one Day thats a total of : 20,240 watts used or 843.33 w /per hour

    Then convert watts to kw hours with this link http://mhi-inc.com/Converter/watt_calculator.htm

    that gives you 20.24 kwh. per day

    20.24X0.63= $ 12.75 per day

    $ 12.75 X 25 or w/e your billing cyle is = $318.75 total month

    wow that seems kinda expensive, where im from the rate is only 0.10120 per kwh :hello:

    correct me if im wrong

  3. Close but off a decimal.

    600wx12 =7200w/day
    8x40x18 =5760w/day
    125x24 =3000w/day
    150x24 =3600w/day
    45x24 =1080w/day

    Total watts used 20,640/day

    20,640/1000 =20.64kwhs/day

    20.64x.063= $1.30/day

    $1.30 x 31days = $40.30 per month

  4. yea sorry math isnt my ball game

    but i made an attempt :)

  5. You had it. Just when you did the last part, kwhs x .63 (which would be 63cents instead of 6.3cents) should have been kwhs x .063.

    I saw that original number you had without looking to see what was running and was like, holy shit whats that guy running!! But then I looked and realized what he was going to use and figured out the mistake. But you did have it, just misplaced a decimal:smoking:

  6. Thank you both for figureing this out and showing me how its done ... THANKS

  7. You are welcome. That is what we are here for.
