I saw my friend's setup and he doesn't use any medium inside his flood tray. All he has is just the babies in the grodan cubes which is set on the flood tray. Is this ok to do? I figure the roots need to grow out to be "better". He says, the roots won't travel out of the cube because of the light... can someone give me some input on this?
ive seen it like that before.. but all the cubes touched each other... it was like a giant grodan cube... you might need to flood less because rockwool holds water really well... if there are spaces between the rockwool cubes you should fill it in with hydroten
