Drying buds without stems

  1. Would it affect the quality of the bud if I separated them from the stem before drying them out? I don't have the necessary resources to hang dry whole stems/colas. I plan on trimming down to the buds and removing the stems completely when I harvest. From there I plan on using a drying rack with manicured buds evenly dispersed on multiple levels to utilize space that would otherwise be taken up by stems.

Does this sound like a feasible plan? I don't want to cause my bud to go harsh after all the work I've put in this season.
