Well, as has been my habit lately, I am starting a journal for a grow well into its flower stage. I ordered 5 AK48 Fem Seeds from Nirvana. All 5 sprouted and are growing to maturity. Since I only have 4 buckets on my DWC system, one of the girls is in soil. I've kept with the nutrient program that I've used successfully on the last couple grows. I am using the Botanicare program supplementing it with Cal/Mag and Aquashield (I discontinued the Aquashield a few weeks ago, because the bottle said it only has a 1 year shelf life, and it was expired). I've found that lower vs higher nutrient levels produce better yields. In fact, I am at the 30 Day mark in the flower program, and have yet to cross the 1000PPM mark. For the last 2 grows, I stuck with the same program. While the girls were seedlings, I used 1/4 of the Bcare recommended volumes, once into Veg and Bloom, I stick with 1/2 of the recommended volumes. Early on, I wasn't very impressed with this strain. I think there were definitely different Phenos in this mix, and they seemed to start very slowly. It even seemed that 2 of the girls were a bit stunted. As always seems to be the case, it was hard to tell if the girls were needing more or less nutes, so I just decided to stick to the plan that's worked in the past, and didn't deter from the schedule. Within a few weeks, all the girls responded very well, and the plants are tracking very nicely now. Well, I will try to keep this thing going with periodic photo updates. Here are some I took yesterday morning. Also, if you are curious what my set up is, it hasn't changed over the last several grows, and is posted in those links. The only thing changed is I purchased a new HPS Bulb since the old one was over a year old, and I was concerned it was losing Lumens. Day 66/Day 30 Flower
Get back on the aquashield , fighting the dreaded slime right now. Ended up here because I too noticed my Aquashield was expired before I even got to use it. Haha.
