Down stem length

Discussion in 'Smoking Accessories Q&A' started by Xtravagent, Jul 13, 2013.

  1. I currently have a 6 inch down stem from the top of my ground joint and the only down stem I was looking at buy is sold out in the 6 inch but not the 5.5.

My question: Would the 5.5 stem make a big difference?

  2. just means you will need to add more water
this may or may not affect the piece you have it all depends on where everything is located
try posting a picture so we can all get a better idea of what your trying to do

    Standard down stem, 6 inches

Trying to upgrade to the 5.5 sovereignty downstem because at my LHS they are out of the 6 inch and the sale ends the 22nd.

  4. The 5.5 will be fine for sure. Which sovereignty are you looking at? Their half grid looks way too pretty

  5. Yes that one. I plan on picking it up this weekend! @[member="doktre j"]

  6. it wont affect the piece/hit in any way
sweet beaker, what mm thickness is that glass? looks thick

  7. 9mm all the way around. Including the joint, most people promote 9mm yet there joints are all standard joints, or no where near 9mm, US tubes full 9mm  :hello: .

I love it, it clears instantly and it will only be better with my new downstem, and I just got a Ben Wilison slide for it.
