    Mutiny is the rebellion of the People against an authority, but what is the word for the Authority to mutiny against the people?

    Impossible. Authority can't rebel against someone that doesn't have authority over the Authority.

    by the definition of mutiny i do not think there can be an inverse... maybe something like a corrupt leader is what you are looking for?

    If you abandon the people you have authority over... then you don't have authority over anyone... soo.. your not an authority... lol

    Even a government needs something or someone to govern over.

    all your comments make sense. im looking for a word that expresses a trusted ruler, that decides to turn on his people. tyrrany is the closest so far.
