Does any type of activated carbon work in a scrubber?

  1. I am buying from a company called norit and they have 150 different types for different industries, the one I can get is this one:
Norit RB 3 is a steam activated extruded carbon with a particle diameter of 3 mm.
    will that work?

  2. Not exactly the answer you were looking for ...but several people (including me) just use Ultra Pearls kitty litter (NOTE: "PEARLS" , not regular litter). Works just as well, available locally and cheaper.

  3. Thanks man, I been trying to find an alternative to the carbon, I can only find in bulk and have to buy 25 kilos of it if I want it.
I will look for that kitty litter, not sure I will find it here, is there any special additive I should look for if I need to use a different brand?

  4. i know this thread is a month old but if your still having trouble finding activated carbon, just look at your local aquarium shop they usually carry it.
