I'm not being a fan boy or a hater. I like cod. . But when you've played the series since the ps1 days you might be like me and say the games stopped being amazing after Cod4. Like, they're OK games, but it's just not that same feeling.. This is just my opinion but I don't think cod is one of those games that can all of a sudden be "epic" after being mediocre for years prior. I mean, Any change to its formula would have to be a drastic one. Eventually if it becomes an epic game it's because it's not cod any more, and it's overall formula has changed. In ghosts they added slight environmental destruction which is a bf innovation, they add the aliens which is reminiscent to a ton of other games and entire genres. I don't see it happening without it being a complete different game. I like the series but I'm not looking forward to the furture. I rather reminisce about its past. CoD is shit now because it tried to be "epic" for dudebros. CoD went to shit after CoD:UO and CoD2 for PC. Console plebs sperg over CoD4 and WaW from lack of exposure to decent titles. Titanfall: CoD 2 Electric Boogaloo will be all the "epic" bullshit you need.
I wouldn't take it to seriously, I was just throwing around buzzwords. But in all seriousness the console did kill CoD. To say console is "better" must be a joke though.

Consoles definitely killed cod. Only time CoD was epic was back when CaLeague was at its peak and competition was right up there with cs1.6. Its now a console game for whoring pubs lol
CoD should have quit after MW2 which was arguably their highest peak. They haven't made the improvements necessary to keep the game entertaining, they haven't upgraded their engine in 7 years and the maps are mostly the same templates from other sequels. I bought Ghosts in November and I've played it once since then. A new CoD based on REAL history would be great. The storylines they have now are like a never-ending plot.
If I could I would +Rep and give you a noble prize. CoD4 was good. I said the franchise went to shit. MW2, although "fun", was streamlined and repetitive like all new CoD rehashes, it was just the first and people didn't bitch as much. Call of Duty completely lost it's roots on console, it was dumbed down for a dumb market. Same thing with Titanfall. I'm getting it cause I'm a mech junkie but you're right, it is going to be the CoD. They took it down to 6v6, added AI and easymodo weapons for people who need to jump into "epic" action but can't handle too much.
I STILL play CoD 4. It is, in my opinion, the best online fps ever made. I have purchased WaW, MW2, BO and BO2. Spawn systems have changed, too many weapons and perks, stupid killstreaks. I believe CoD 4 is the best CoD because it focused on the right things. You played the game to have fun and excel with your weapon. You did NOT play just to try to get killstreaks. They were there, but you didn't control them, didn't pick them out, it was a set 3/5/7 KS. The maps were all a healthy blend of short, mid and long range combat. I'd like to also point out, recent CoD games have changed map layouts in the sense that there are no closed rooms. CoD4 did have buildings with only one or two entrances, and rooms with only one entrance. This provided a "base" that your team could post up in. It is not CAMPING, it is using strategy - entering a building and firing from windows turns it into a fortress. This is rarely seen in CoD now, as each room flows into the next - giving "run and gunners" a ridiculously cheesy, and Halo-like advantage. On that note, Halo is a splendid multiplayer game, but Halo and CoD are different games, and should stay that way.
I really liked MW2 and MW3 and the first black ops was alright.. haven't played COD since last summer and I used to be a major NoLife
I always saw in my point of view that COD fell off after black ops 1. I started on WaW & always thought it was the best but the series got boring. Switched to battlefield & I'm waiting for cod to come out with another ww2 type game.Sent from my SCH-I545 using Grasscity Forum mobile app
