Hey guys. Dj screw was a dude in texas who invented the whole Chopped and Screwed style of rap. He would drink a lot of hydrocodeine syrup and it would have a huge influence on the music he created. This music is definitely better when really high or on downers. "Between 1991 and 1992, there was a large increase in use of syrup in Houston. Syrup has been considered to be a major influence in the making of and listening to Chopped & Screwed music due to its effects of slowing the brain down. This gave slow, mellow music its appeal. DJ Screw, however, denounced the claim that you have to use syrup to enjoy Chopped & Screwed music a number of times. Cool to see some other members here appreciate the same music. I don't normally listen to rap, I am a metalhead, and then i also listen to reggae and softer rock, but i like a lot of texas stuff.
