Here are just some observations: - we're fighting 3 wars that cost tons of money with no return on investment. We should at least steal some oil from Iraq or something - national unemployment is at 9%. Recently the unemployment rate increased from 8.5 to 9% since the economy was getting BETTER and the passively unemployed started looking for work again. - talentless clowns like Justin Bieber being the face of music today - our $15 trillion plus national debt and increasing Debt relative to GDP ratio. - Rising inflation/ commodity costs including price of gas which will further strain the underwater middle class - Housing prices as a national average continue to go down even with a "thriving economy." The shadow foreclosure situation is very disconcerting. - Value foundations of the US. We're too focused on putting chrome wheels on our cars and worrying about our fantasy baseball leagues. Societies in East Asia and India are based off hard work ethic, education, respect, discipline, religion. - TV shows like the real housewives are extremely popular. - Our country's unwillingness to lower corporate tax rates. This causes many of our corporations like Cisco and GE to hold an very large percentage of their operations overseas, thus paying much less in US tax revenue. - The way our country conducts itself. Example: during the Louisiana flood, people are fighting amongst each other, looting stores, stealing TVs while after the Japanese earthquake people wait in line for hours in a very calm and organized fashion. - Lack of control over illegal immigration and the potential hazard of crime. - Why the top 1% of the richest in this country hold 40% of the wealth. That's just off the top of my head. This isn't intended be negative, but to bring light to trends that may hinder our country. Please feel free to add.
I cant disagree with any of this... but i dont know, im not too pessimistic. Eventually things will get better. They may have to get worse before they get better, but it will work out in the end.
