    - J Cole.

Its not that important but I'm just wondering what you guys think. I realize a lot of artists have done Dead Presidents and probably have said similar things in reference to presidents.

  2. i can name like 5 fabolous songs where he himself uses a dead presidents reference lol.

and if he is actually dissin cole..id like to see this..fabolous i used to rele like but hes been doing club cross over hits lately lol

  3. not personally aimed at J-cole most likely, he just thought up an ill verse and happened to diss people using the dead presidents term, which he uses himself...so yea

  4. I was thinking the same thing. Fabo v J Cole would be sick.

  5. wonderful insight.

  6. I guess i could see why you think this, but still.

I think it's about people who use the term without really thinking about it and realizing Franklin wouldn't qualify. It's been used so much in hip hop man. I think the meaning of that line applies to everything though, and that's the real message/idea.

    Just a few

    The remixes start there

  7. I realize that the song has been remixed a lot and was the reason for me creating this post, to see who every thought this was directed at. Was just wondering if it was specified to J. Cole or not because he did specifically mention Franklin in his song and wasn't sure if any other remixes have had similar lyrics or not.

  8. hes not the first person to use that beat/title

  9. You are good at reading the first post, poorly.

  10. What do you mean bro ? Its common for emces talking about money to mention benjamens and grants aswell

He just putting all the rappers who used it on front.

  11. I realize that more now, but at first I wasn't sure if he was specifically mentioning people who used the phrase 'dead presidents' accompanied with the words "benjamins" in the false reference that he was a president. (As J. Cole did).

  12. I get what NowIsB is saying, maybe not at first though...

JCole specifically said Franklin's in the "Dead President's" track and while we all know it is a reference to money, Franklin's, unlike Jackson's and Grant's, doesn't literally make sense since he wasn't a president. Considering the timing of JCole's "Dead President's" remix and the Fabolous's shot at rappers using the line incorrectly, one may infer that he is aiming at JCole and not just rappers in general.

Whew, I need a hit after that, but I would need to do some more digging before I could answer conclusively. Since I don't care too much, I'll just say OP is reaching.

edit: I don't know why I typed that, OP can explain it.

  13. I am totally on page with you.

P.S. Big props for the city man. I'm about 2 hours north of you :)
