Determining Light Penetration

  1. What's up GC,

Long story short my swamp spot I used for last years grow is now under 6" of water due to the above average rainfall we've been having, which is now making it useless... Well along with me nearly stepping on a 4ft cotton mouth in the process of getting there also abruptly set the idea in motion.

So now I have several new areas being looked at while my babies are sprouting but I have a time limit. The spots I'm looking at are hardwood forests (20-60ft) tall with some saplings in-between. There are some spots where I can trim the branches and create East to West (the way the sun rises/falls) lines but there is still the taller leaf cover.

My question is, will trimming branches in a forest help create enough sunlight for my babies to grow large enough to be worth my time?
