Darkstars Grow

  1. Popped 2 primal punch seeds. One of the 2 other seeds is funky. Real funky. She keeps popping single leaves, and isn’t growing north. The other is looking beautiful. Node 3 is open. The 2 primal punch seeds will go into soil tonight too. Hoping for at least 1 female.
Not much to look at so no pics. But they’re nice and green. They’re on to 125ppm feeds now too. And they’re getting transplanted this weekend into 1/2g pots so no more dome for them. Probably gonna stick em under the Mars 300 for 1-2 weeks before the cmh just to save a bit of cash. I’ll pop a couple pics after they’re transplanted. Prolly Sunday since it’s gonna snow and ice all day.

  2. Well things are coming along. All 4 are green and growing. 2 babies and 2 kiddos. E06846F3-07A2-48B0-B361-43AC4ACDDAE5.jpeg 0DCA30D7-6554-4BD0-B81E-5FCEDAFE50C6.jpeg F430B8B7-DE43-4DE9-8BEC-55605F705139.jpeg 9EEB78B2-BC13-4297-A56A-DEF44E857C6D.jpeg I have a heater running temps are 70ish. Rh is 50-55 (much higher in the dome) the top girl in the first pic has been growing really funky, but then every once in a while everything smooths out and it looks good. The pic was taken Monday right when I transplanted. She’s popped back pretty well since then.
I did notice my promix has some sort of grayish bacteria growing here and there. I’m hoping that it’s something beneficial, but I kind of doubt it. But eeh whatevs. Roots were all nice and white so for now it doesn’t seem to be affecting things.
    All I have for now.

  3. Well it’s been a very slow go of things so far. But I think I’m starting to get things going in the right direction. My rh was between 4-13% for a while. I wasn’t getting any growth at all and the 2 big ones stopped feeding and I think are a little locked out. Or were. They’re turning things around now. But they’re well behind. The babies are a tale of two weeds. One is a specimen. The other really struggled with the low rh even in the dome. There must have been a draft on it. But it’s now on the mend as well.
Current temps are 67-72ish. Rh is 50-62% the babies will be on 150ppm feedings starting late this week. Big ones will get 1 ro watering at the end of the week. And then back to 350ppm feeds.
Here’s some pics. I’ll be ditching the mars soon. But I like the low cost for the moment.

This is the more healthy of the older ones. Chocolate cream 1

And this is the one that was all funky to start. But she’s seemed to have hit a stride now chocolate cream 2

This one had twisted curled leaves from day 3 I’d say. But the last leaves are looking decent. Primal Punch
    F3F4A561-A6E1-4072-892E-D2485632958A.jpeg
And finally this one is looking on point. Primal Punch as well. And it already stinks! Like a lot too.
Looking like a rookie at the moment. But I’m sure things will pick up now. That rh had everything looking real awful. But no more. It’s all turning around.

  4. Damn weather! If I didn’t have a humidifier on my furnace mine would be low like that too.
You must have been throwing soaks everywhere lol

  5. We have 4 humidifiers running thru out the house. I got a 3600sq ft one so that I could steal a smaller one for the room. And it still took 3 days on high before the cement soaked up its fill and the air got some moisture. A 6x7 room is still eating a gallon of water a day for 57-62% rh. Goes to show how important vpd really is. The plants simply don’t grow without some level of good vpd. Even my houseplants are thriving now.

  6. I've been running the humidifier non-stop to keep my RH in the 30% range - my basement is probably 1000sq ft and my grow cabinet is down there so keeping the air from being absurdly dry has been a PITA. I also need to run a space heater at night to keep temps out of the low-to-mid 50s.

Growing in the MA winter is FUN!

  7. I am in the same boat @Steakbomb i have the space heater hooked up to the Inkbird, the humidifier on all the time, the fans going, the heater pad for the babies in the dome, and the lights. Total pain. Lol.

  8. Today I transplanted the babies into bigger pots. They haven’t had any nutes yet, but next watering they will. They’re starting to yellow a lil. I also started up the cmh at 195w. Set at 24” 4K bulb.

Starting to get my room dialed in. Rh is good, and I went up a couple degrees on the temps. The ones to the right are on full feedings. Ec1.2 and 6.4ph. The left had their first feeding too. Same ph but 1/2 strength. Next week I’ll up my wattage to 275 and once they hit 15” I’ll probably transplant, and flip a week later. Haven’t decided if I’m gonna scrog or not. Probably not though. Just having some fun this round.

  10. Two big ones are topped now. Should really start bushing now. 259E1D92-A5A5-4629-B01C-53B27710C907.jpeg 87E75DCA-7F61-4270-B780-99CA5B531150.jpeg
I have worries about the second one. She seems to be growing okay, but she doesn’t drink like the first one at all. Maybe 1/2 to even 1/4 as much. But they’re about the same size so idk.

The littles are coming along too. The closer one has been 1/2 topped and the back one will be by Friday I’d guess. Probably about the same time as I finish off topping the closer one.

  11. Upped my light to 245w. Temps are maxing at 81ish now. Still no exhaust fan. Still running the humidifier and the 6” fan. Everything’s looking on track. Finally.

  13. Final pots this weekend. The little ones aren’t quite caught up, but they’re ready for some training. Gonna get them into their #7 pots and start scrogging them out. And see how they do.

Transplanting had to wait till this weekend coming. Just too much going on. But still going strong. I have a confirmed female and 95% on the punch being male. But the 2 choc cremes are feminized so it’ll be 3 girls. Kind of weird running them with no expectations and minimal work. It takes a bit longer, but whatevs. They’re about 2 months veg and I’m gonna flip soon.

My nutes are old, my lights aren’t turned up, my rh is way off, and my temps haven’t been great. Plus the 2 choc cremes both looped their roots so they were extra slow growers to start. But overall I can’t complain. Just goes to show how simple you can make this.

Transplant was a success. Root systems look good and I got some new promix without anything growing in it for the new pots. Everything got tied down as well. I wanted to flip this weekend, but I’m gonna wait one extra week b4 I flip.

The one in the small pot is a male, but imma give him a little extra time just to be sure but his sister is popping hair everywhere E9FBCA87-148D-4771-8526-3B658EA2B55F.jpeg
These are the chocolate cream. The one in the back is much nicer looking, but they both should have plenty of tops.

This is the Primal Punch. (Gg4 x banana punch) bred by medgrower. Can’t wait to see what she does. Great structure. She’s 3 weeks younger than the chocos and already as big. Regular seeds from USA vs fem seeds from Europe.

Light is at full power now too. 315w 4K bulb. I’ll swap out to a bigger light after week1 flower.

  16. Last cropping for these girls. They’re nice and bushy. Smaller than my normal plants, but should be good. C17E87F9-D9EE-41D6-A677-41CA08A0EA3A.jpeg 25D6BE71-1AC1-468B-9D88-BA860200BF9B.jpeg B76F77CB-4F47-4A5C-A997-5B8A776CFA68.jpeg 7C0583E8-A7A8-4E39-B522-4F2DB03888B8.jpeg Top 2 are chocolate and look like different expressions. Next is that primal punch. The stink when I cropped em down was really nice. And the male is still bouncing around. Flipping this Sunday. But I still haven’t decided on cages or trellis. Probably cages tho. It’s just easier for me.

Plants are good. The lights are at 630w now. One week in.
