  1. lacrosse, it dependa on how much you want to spend. I'de reccomend stayng away from anything with full suspension(FS) just because to get a GOOD FS bike it'll put a ding in ya bling, cheap suspension is just not worth it. You can get a good entry level bike for under $1000USD, sometimes for well under that.

There are a lot of good bikes out there that won't cost a fortune. How big (height/weight/build) are you and have you ridden anything resembling aggressive riding before?

What you gotta decide is what you really want.

What kind of terrain do you have around you? moutains? forest? desert? urban?

You should check out www.unrealcycles.com for the ultiamte in hardcore stuff. look at the bike gallery section there's some mad bike porn there, go through and see what setups stand out to you.

You should come over to pinkbike.com even if you don't register at least lurk, but warning, there's a lotta kids who like to flame, just be mellow and ignore and look past their immature stuff and there's a wealth of knowledge on all kinds of aggressive riding. If you do register hit me up with a PM and let me know you arrived.

A great resource for all things bikes is www.mtbr.com when you want to research a bike or bike product go here, chances are it's been reviewed, just go to product reviews, select the appropraite category and look for the part or bike you wanna see, they usually have a pic and lijnks to online stores and the manufacturer's website, but the biggest thing there is the reviews submitted by owners.

Just look around at pinkbike and the other sites and see what interests you, and we can talk in more specifics.
