Hello fellow tokers and cannabis connoisseurs!

Welcome to my complete grow journal documenting my seedlings progression throughout their grows. Space was a main concern when deciding what size to go with, after working down from a 4x4' to 3x3'; I settled on the 2x4'. The 2x'4 being a perfect fit for my closet and meeting one of my next main concerns, stealth.

That being said, this is my first "legit" indoor grow. I have grown a few outdoor plants in the past, and have some experience working with the plant itself. I have spent the past few months researching and researching different tips, tricks, and techniques. Finally deciding I would attempt a scrog with some topping and LST for my first attempt at indoor gardening. Any advice/tips/tricks is welcomed!

How about we move on to some specs?

Lighting: 400W Ballast w/ HPS and MH Conversion Bulb - Sitting in a 6" CoolTube

    Grow Tent:Apollo 2x4x5' Tent

    Exhaust: 1x 6" Carbon Filter/Fan

Soil: MG Moisture Control - best I could find local/newbie soil
    Nutes: FoxFarm Trio

I have almost the exact setup.. It's my second grow. I know a bit.. but still learning! I might make a journal, but I will be following yours.

So two plants total? That's cool, I'm doing three. The thing that has me confused is why people say you can have up to nine plants vegging under 400w MH... but how is that even possible when your light is 10-12" from the canopy? The footprint cannot be wide enough to cover 9 plants, I just don't get it.

Anyway, I'd rather focus all my efforts on 2-3 awesome plants, rather than 9-10. Ya know?

    Good luck & happy growing!

Yeah exactly, I couldn't ever see myself stuffing nine plants in there unless I was going for a SoG grow. I've thought about maybe doing 3, which would leave 1.33' x 2' of space per a plant which is sufficient. Although I feel I can crop out more from two wide, well trained plants. Anyways good luck with your grow! I'll be sure to drop by if you decide to begin a journal.

Thanks mate, best of luck on your grow as well.

    DAY 6:

No major changes today, continuing to mist the surfaces of both seedlings as they progress. Still dealing with my exhaust blowing directly outside of my window rather than the attic. This being due to the fact that my attic has a WOODEN SUBFLOOR D: and being in the corner of my house; it's lacking in height (2-4" to tiles).

I've been considering venting directly into my room, current temp in the tent is running at 77-79F during daytime to 73-75F during night. I'm concerned this may raise the temp in my room thus creating an endless cycle, heating my room and tent. Another thought was installing a standalone window AC vent adapter, in order to disguise the exhaust as just an AC. Although I feel this would look equally suspicious during the colder winter months. So, I'm open to any ideas/reassuring words FLIR won't spot my window exhaust!

    DAY 8:

Alright, well I've been busy to say the least.. in the past two days I've managed to solve two early issues I had been dealing with. First of all the ventilation issue has been solved, yay! It wasn't exactly what I wanted to do but it worked. Basically I switched rooms with a roommate whose attic ran perpendicular to the house and went straight into the attic. So I punched myself a whole through the ceiling and ran some ducting up into my attic. I have the lucky advantage of living in an area which allows for well ventilated attics!

The second issue I manged to get rid of for the time being was some little pesky fruit flies (which suck), which had invaded. Anyways to deal with this I first tried to leave some intoxicated orange juice in the room. The choice of poison for this was a little bit of windex and sugar; stirred slightly into a deadly cocktail. Well... this failed the resilient bastards proved victorious, so I came up with my next idea. Knowing my plants have no current odor, I detached my carbon filter from the system. Sucking the poor bastards through, to a quick cook and ride straight on out. I have seen no survivors after 24 hours.

Will start feeding them 1.5 TBLS per gallon of some FF Big Bloom starting on day 14ish, otherwise they're looking strong and healthy!
