custom cree or mars ii 700 in 3x3 tent

Discussion in 'Lighting' started by MilkBreak, Aug 18, 2016.

  1. I'm setting up a 3x3 tent and want to try and stick to LED. I was going to go with a Mars 2 700 ($450 canadian). Not ideal but it's pretty close to my max for lights right now.

I have also been looking at making a custom Cree setup.
    Something like.
    4 or 5 x cxa3070 @ 3000k
    2 x cxa3070 @ 5000k.
And adding some deep red and blue leds for resin.

My question is will the Cree setup be much better for around the same cost.

If you could recommend other options for a Cree setup that would work better I'm pretty new to all this.

    Thanks

Hi @MilkBreak I just checked with my colleague, sorry I misunderstand you, I thought that you mean 469 USD. truly sorry about that. Anyway you can check the link Mars II 700. But if you want Mars2 700,you can place order on our website, the price is lower.

  5. I would think you could build a better setup at similar cost, but you have to know what you want and be willing to go the DIY route. Custom LEDs are just that "custom".

The possibilities are pretty much endless. But you could probably drive those 3070s with 300watts for ~$100 +COB cost.

  6. Thank you for your advice, very appreciate that !!!

If youre handy at all, go with a custom LED setup. Youll save a nice chunk dough instead of getting a premade or barebones kit equivalent.

Ill probably be posting a DIY on exactly how to do this in the next week or two. It will be using two 5000k and six 3500k CXA3070 running off two HLG 185H-C1400B

  8. @MilkBreak I will help you but you should be getting CXB3590 the prices have dropped crazy low. I am a diy cob guy
