  1. Hey GC, i'm a senior in high school, and ive been smoking weed pretty much everyday, with the occasional break, for the last 2 years. but since about a year ago, ive been having symptoms of crohns disease, but we thought it was something else, so we were testing for other conditions. I've had some tests done recently however, that indicate i have crohn's, and my symptoms of crohn's has really gotten worse lately. i have a colonoscopy in 2 days, so ive tried refraining from smoking weed in the last couple of weeks, so they can get an accurate diagnosis, since weed is an anti-inflammatory.

but if they dont find anything in the colonoscopy, they'll decide to do the capsule camera thing, which looks at your small intestine, instead of your colon. if that happens, should i stay clean, so that the weed wont give the doctors an inaccurate diagnosis, because of the anti-inflammatory properties of weed. i really wanna start smoking again, cuz its the only thing that helps me feel better, but i dont wanna screw up the diagnosis. the issue is that the capsule camera thing could take anywhere from a couple weeks to a couple months to get insurance coverage for. my question is, do u think smoking weed will give the doctors an inaccurate diagnosis for the colonoscopy, and the caspule camera?

Talk to your doctor's and tell them you smoke. They are your Doctor's and they need the information to properly care for you. They may even encourage it... and they will tell you if you need to stop or if it won't matter.

  5. I have Crohn's and I smoked every day up to my last colonoscopy. I think a bowl while I was fasting as well. The doctor in his notes states there was "patchy mild to moderate inflamation throughout the colon." I wonder how bad it would have been if I wasn't smoking.

And thanks for all those links Granny! I'd seen a couple sources, but having them all compiled like that is sweet.

  6. See, thats what im worried about, im worried that the weed will calm my inflammation and make the doctors think its not as bad as it really is.

anyways, i had my colonoscopy today, and they didnt find anything in the colon, but did find some inflammation in the illeum. which means theyre gonna do the camera capsule. dammit, fuck my life. now i dont think i can smoke for another month.

  7. from what I remember the capsule is a far more pleasant experience than a regular colonoscopy. your capsule is in a month? smoke for the next two weeks, then take the two prior to the procedure off.

my advice is to talk with your doctor about the benefits that mj brings to you, especially it's anti-inflammitory aspects. he's your doctor; he won't get you in trouble for smoking illegally and it might help him figure things out.
