Are there any issues with running a 400w HPS in a cool tube with a 6" inch vortex fan sucking air from the room through the tube and then forcing the air outside the room through an odor sock? Maybe with a PC fan on the light tube intake? My show is in a closet and I have a hole in the floor to suck air in from under the house. I can attach the intake fan to a cooling thermostat and to supply fresh air. I guess my concern is, will the filter hinder the fan from sucking as much air across the bulb even with a pc fan at the intake? Any humidity/temp issues anyone can foresee? Thanks!
well, IMO it's best to go filter->fan->tube, because 1. sucking the air through the vent could warp its blades and then it's fucked 2. pushing the air out through the filter would make for a heat-collection behind the lamp, hence hindering the efficiency of the cooling altogether 3: sucking the air in through the filter ensures your fan, tube and, most important of all, the bulb, stay clean and free from dust... also, having an extra fan within the setup is always nice to ensure a good air-flow watch that you lead all ducts as straight as possible, so no air gets "stuck" in un-needed bends... but that's just me
